Congratulations boogatt66 on your 11-3 week.  With a number of upsets this week, many of our predictions suffered during Week Six which has shaken up the rankings a bit.  Interestingly enough, the number of weeks played has sorted out in the rankings.  There's still a couple of week before the "halfway" point of the season so any newcomers can still get themselves into the mix for some Arizona Cardinals-related prizes at the end of the season.  Players need a minimum of nine weeks of predictions, with mandatory predictions for Week 16 and Week 17, to qualify (so you can ride out your high percentage if you want...but not in the last two weeks!).    bclairao, there's plenty of time to get your percentage up!

I guess I live with 9-5 for this week

Everyone don’t forget to get your picks in this week. Just b/c the Cardinals are on vacation doesn’t mean we can all hit the ‘snooze’ button on this week’s games. At least we can all see Seattle get smacked around in prime time.

+1

Crazy week. 9-5’s not too bad. Enough to bring me to 2nd place by default.

I’ll be cheering for the Giants, Bucs & Rams this week. F the Cowboys!

better than my crap.

I forgot to post one winner and that’s a good thing. I picked the wrong team anyway.

Welcome to ROTB

Getting in is very easy, in fact you’re pretty much already in. All you have to do is make your picks in this thread. You’ll see alot of the guys making their picks over the next couple of days. If you want to look at how we do them you can check out a previous week (right here) to get an idea.

Other than that, welcome to ROTB and don’t worry we’ll get you more jacked up about the Cardinals. They are after all, stocked with former Steelers.

We’re thinking “outside the box” this week. Let’s see how far we can go here.

Seattle

Changing the Seattle pick to Tampa.

I just read that it’s going to be an injured Seneca Wallace.

Before I forget...

Buffalo (Gonna bounce back from the AZ loss and BYE-rejuvinated against a West Coast team)
Carolina (Home is a benefit this year)
Chicago (Embarrassed about that Atlanta loss, gonna be fired up)
Pittsburgh (Surprised a Lions-esque house cleaning hasn’t started in Cincy)
Tennessee (Collins must be thrilled with the opportunity)
Miami (Baltimore gave the Dolphins their only victory last year…)
NYGiants (Niners don’t travel well anymore)
Dallas (Poor Lambs, dysfunctional Cowboys gonna get medieval on their…)
Houston (Detroit mayor petitioning to have top ranked high school team play for Lions this week)
Green Bay (Oi, no idea…home team I suppose)
NYJets (Al Davis will be spotted at mid-field sacrificing cats to Satan for another liver and another victory at midnight)
Washington (Redskins will cinch up the belts on the turnovers)
Tampa Bay (Gawds, can NBC flex this game off the schedule NOW?!)
New England (Back home, Denver plays poorly on the east coast)

RotBers: I’m traveling home on Monday so ought to have the Week 7 results posted early Tuesday AM, Pacific Time. Good to see you’re back, bclairao! Welcome aboard, AZ Steelers. You can just give your picks or post some comment as to why you’re picking certain teams, or a little of both. I think most of us get a chuckle out of some of the explanations.

SD – I like BUF but not enough to pick them over the surging Super Chargers
CAR – I don’t want ARI to roll into CAR with them losing two straight
CHI – I’ll take Orton over Ferotte, but that’s kind of like taking the flu or a flesh eating virus
PIT – With no Carson Palmer, I’d bet my house
TEN – KC without Larry stands no chance, not that they really did anyways
MIA – Taking the Wildcat or whatever they’re calling it over Flacco
NYG – Go Giants – give us an even bigger lead to play with
DAL – Gotta pick the Cowpukes even if old man Brad plays
HOU – DET is turrrible, they traded away maybe their best player & their on the road
IND – Tough game but I’ll take Manning over Rodgers
OAK – UPSET OF THE WEEK, OAK’s gotta win and Favre ain’t that great
WAS – Surely they won’t underestimate another opponent
TB – Go Bucs, put the SeaBirds out of their misery
DEN – Tough game but I’d take Cutler over Cassel & Champ vs. Moss should be fun

by cgolden on Oct 17, 2008 6:07 AM MDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Orton now has scored at least 15 fantasy points in four straight weeks, has eight touchdowns during that time, and only Kurt Warner and Drew Brees have more passing yards in that timeframe. Orton is actually doing just fine.

by Red Reign on Oct 17, 2008 10:04 AM MDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

yea that is true

I’m still not a huge believer though (Grossman had some good stretches a couple of years ago), but I did hear a fantasy show on ESPN last week that said Orton was a better play last week than Peyton based on match-ups. I haven’t watched much Bears football this year though so I’m really going more on previous years.

Yeah

I benched Manning in favor of Garrard last week in my Yahoo (money) league. Luckily I am still undefeated there.

Thanks -- I was sweating that one out when it went into OT

The game that I was watching switched over to that game when it went into OT so I got to see some of that game. Talk about two teams that were playing terrible.

by cgolden on Oct 20, 2008 8:02 AM MDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

If I just copy someones picks I would probably be better off

SD – Chargers are getting better
NO — I think the Raiders may have helped Saints get going
CHI – I am becoming an Orton believer
PIT – Bengals good run comes to an end
TEN – Titans D keep them in the game
MIA – They seem to be getting better
NYG – They gotta be hurting so will be dangerous
DAL – don’t want the Rams getting on a roll before we play them
HOU – Schaub is good – Lions is bad
IND – Colts seem to have woken up
NYJ – Get rid of Cable and get the dish!
WAS – I am VERY tempted to pick the Browns
TB – Garcia wins the battle of the bald QB’s
DEN – Coin flip

i suck too

Buf- SD is running out of steam.
Car- I don’t want the Cards to face them after 2 losses either.
Chi- Just a gut feeling.
Pit- No Carson and a pretty bad RB group.
Ten- Last undefeated team. Can KC play the spoiler. Nah!!!
Mia- Gotta ride this train.
NYG- At least 11 sacks on JT. Remember I said it first.
Dal- Payback is a B. Sorry STL. Blame the schedule makers.
Hou- The only way Det wins is if Ten loses. Really doubt it.
Ind- Close one. But I think Peyton is finally back.
NYJ- Would have chosen Oak if Lane was still there.
Was- Toss up. Derek Anderson is back and Shawn Springs is out.
TB- Dude its Sea. Holgrem should have quit. They suck too.
Den- NE doesn’t have an RB (Maroney-out) or a QB (Cassel-???(not good yet)).

Duty calls

Get away from work for a week and there’s a lot to catch up on; I’ll have the Week 7 results posted this evening. I apologize for the delay.

Looks like another W for CG

I was counting on Denver to be 11/3 opps

Think I got 1 game on him this week

Inching closer, CG! (I’m too lazy to look at everyone else’s records for the week.)

Props to Hawk for doing the dirty work!

I had 5 losses

It’s a good thing that points don’t play into it though, my five losses were by a combined 97 points.
