Arizona Cardinals News: Injury Update
Three big names are not participating in practice: Adrian Wilson, Bertrand Berry and Anquan Boldin. Berry and Boldin aren't surprises but it's somewhat surprising that A-dub hasn't been able to practice this week. He's a vet so he doesn't necessarily have to practice to be ready on Sunday but you'd like to see him be limited at least. Leonard Pope was limited, if he practiced at all. At this point, I think it's fair to say that Ben Patrick has taken over as the starting tight end.

Tuman still out?
Will he ever play this year? With Pope hurting, there’s not much flexibility at the TE position, a position that Whisenhunt talked up a lot last year as being “important”. Why don’t they call up Alex Shor and get another big body to block on those 2 TE formations they used effectively during preseason?

I agree it doesn't make much sense
I don’t know what Tuman’s deal is, at the beginning of every week it seems like they’re saying “this could be the week.” At this point, he’d might have to have more than a week of practice to be ready to play (ala Gabe Watson). I really think they’re stuck between a rock and a hard place b/c Tuman is a ‘Whisenhunt guy’ so I doubt they’d release him or put him on IR and it’s tough to carry four tight ends on the roster.
Thinking outside the box though, could Castille line up at tight end and be used like an H-back type (like Chris Cooley)? I know he’s not that athletic but he should be a decent blocking tight end and still be a decent pass option.

Lacks the size
The same thought flashed through my mind, but Castille isn’t a very tall guy. I wonder if that’s why Wilson saw a play on offense as a blocking TE to cover for a missing Tuman. For that matter, why not get Calais Campbell in as a blocking TE? Antonio Smith? There has to be a few guys on D that played TE at sometime in the playing career, even if it was high school.
