Most Memorable Cardinals Games Ever???

Hey Guys,

I'm new to the site but love what I see so far and can't wait to get more involved.

A question for you though- If you were to think back over the past 30 years or so of Cardinals football, which individual games stick out most in your minds?  Things like huge comebacks, miraculous wins, crazy things that happened in the stands, blunder type games (Leon Lett type things)?

Thanks guys!!  Just trying to get some insight into what makes the Cards so special to so many of us!!

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Revenge of the Birds' (ROTB) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of ROTB's editors.

Saints game in 1998

Nice comeback and last second FG to win and send us to the playoffs.

I was in the stands for that one

Jake’s long run to set up the FG was incredible. My buddy took a picture of me screaming my head off after the winning Jacke field goal, I’ll have to find it and post it. What a game! A definite sportsgasm. San Diego was the following week and that was a helluva game too…watched it in a local Radio Shack that had DirecTV and NFL Sunday Ticket. Bars in Placerville, CA, were behind the times in ’98.

The Bears game was memorable for being the only guy in a Cards jersey at the pizza joint with a dozen of pissed of Bear fans for most of the game…until the end. Fortunately I was through three pitchers of Newcastle at that point so didn’t really mind the jeers at the end of the game.

Cards @ Eagles, Week 1, ‘99. Jake’s long pass to MarTay Jenkins on the sideline as time expired was a pretty amazing game. Or was that in ’02? Or was that Rob Moore? Help me out guys.

Niners in '88

That was an amazing comeback too.

I'm kind of a Newbie to Cardinal Fandom, so go easy on me

Worst memory was the Bears meltdown. I literally felt sick for about three days after that one.

Best memory was being at the game two weeks ago when Morey blocked that punt.

Hopefully, I’ll have more good memories to choose from in the near future.

Im gonna have to break away from everybody and say the worst memory was last year against the niners in overtime. I felt sick after that. One of the best would have to be when we knocked off the vikings in ’04 I think. It was the last game of the year, Vikings were trying to make the playoffs. McCown through that TD to Poole at the end to win it. Great game. Bad season.

The first game I ever went to...

Matt, my sister’s boyfriend and I went to the Seahawk’s game in 06’. I coached a Pop Warner team and one of the dad’s gave me 3 kickass tickets just because. It was Cam’s 21st birthday that day too. I think we ended up spending over 200 dollars in Beer for the three of us just inside the stadium, and mingled with tailgaters before and after the game. We ended up killing the Hawks and that was the season after their success so you can imagine how much hell we gave the Bandwagoners wearing Jersey’s in our stadium. We narrowly escaped scrapping with about 10 Seacocks fans (we totally could have taken them Matt) and ended up finding a tailgaiter party with a keg. We were all doing keg stands and Matt did one so long that we actually got tired of holding him and ended up putting him down. The best part was Cam (Sister’s boyfriend) was supposed to have a nice dinner with my sister and their college professor’s and colleges after. She made him promise that he wouldn’t get annihilated but obviously that didn’t happen. He puked out the window the whole ride home, but it was totally worth it. I was a huge Cards fan up until then, but never had the experience first hand of going to a game. I was sold after that! It was not only the best Cards memory I have, but arguably one of the best times of my life. The NFL and especially U of P stadium is Disneyland for adult men and I’m counting down the days I have enough chips to become a season ticket holder.

Sounds like a wild time

I remember buying ebay tix to that game, but they didn’t make it to my house in time. I never did get my money back. Lesson learned. I was pissed, but then they pulled the win out it my joy overcame my anger.

1988

against the 49ers. Down 23-0 late in the 3rd. We win on a last second touchdown from Lomax.

A couple of years ago, we played the Vikings and knocked them out of the playoffs. That was so sweet because the stadium was compeltely filled with viking fans, many of whom made the trip out here just for this game.

That game was the defining moment I realized how...

much of a primadonna little girl Moss was. The playoffs were on the line. It was third and like 18. Moss went across the middle with enough for the first late in the fourth when Culpepper put it on him. He looked to his left and saw the Safety cracking down, looked to his right and had a CB going to sandwich him. So what does he do? Swats the ball down and walked off the field. What a puss! I have never liked him since. Boldin or Fitz would have caught that ball for sure.

Who would win in a fight, Whisenhunt, or God?
Daaaaaaaaaa Cards, Da Cards Da Cards Da Cards Da Cards!!!

What? Not keen on high blood pressure and loose bowels?

I was a wreck by the time this game was over. Ask my wife…I’m sure she has some great blackmail material on me…
