NFL Will Review Adrian Wilson's Hit on Trent Edwards
The NFL will review Wilson's hit that knocked Edwards out of the game after just three plays. An NFL source said that it'll be reviewed not for a 'helmet to helmet' shot but instead for violating a rule called 'Unnecessary acts against a passer.' According to the rule, "a defensive player must not unnecessarily or violently throw him down and land on top of him with all or most of the defender's weight. Instead, the defensive player must strive to wrap up or cradle the passer with the defensive player's arms." If they follow the letter of the law, Wilson will likely be facing at least a fine, in my opinion. As long as he is suspended for a game, I'll be okay with it, but it'll probably be Friday before we know the outcome.

Absolutely Crap!
You can’t fine a guy just because he hit too hard! The NFL is constantly looking for bigger faster stronger atheletes, but now they are going to start fining everybody whose using all their talent? Crap!

They should fine Edwards
Edwards clearly violated the NFL’s “Unnecessary act against a passer” rule when he subjected himself to an head-on AW without even trying to step out of the way.
LOL
On a more serious note, we can’t afford to lose Wilson this week against Dallas.

Bills LB hit on Warner
I’m surprised we haven’t seen any reports about the NFL looking into that hit. It cut open Warner’s chin so it had to have been pretty close to helmet to helmet or a blow to the head.

Checked out the Bills MB this morning
It was about 60/40 on the dirty/clean vote respectively, but even some of their fans were bringing up the hit on Warner being equal or worse.
On a funny note, one of their posters was trying to convince everyone that the Bills should press criminal charges on Wilson because he violated AZ assault statutes. I found that hilarious.

Is the hit on Warner being reviewed too?
That was definitely leading with the helmet on the QB so would be reviewable at least.
At the speed Wilson was traveling I can’t see how he could have done much different to avoid landing on top of the QB.

Check Buffalo Rumblings tomorrow morning, ROTBers, for my breakdown on why Wilson shouldn’t be fined.

Competition Committee Revamps Key Rule for '09 NFL Season...
…The NFL will now play their games with all players wearing flags hung by velcro strips to their waist line. A player in possession of the football during play will be considered tackled when both flags are removed from the waist. Any violent ripping of flags from the waist line that cause the player’s pants to come down will result in the tackling player being fined $15,000 dollars and suspended one game. That suspension time will be spent with Janet Jackson while she presents the NFL sanctioned “The Do’s and Do Not’s of Wardrobe Malfunctions” seminar.
Seriously though, put all NFL QBs in in bubble wrap so they bounce safely when they’re tackled.
We all leave footprints in the sands of time, just watch out for the discarded fish hooks!
