Congratulations Irishcardinal, as your 11-3 prediction record is a dramatic departure from your 50/50 picks of the previous four weeks.  A number of RotB folks have pressed towards the top of the rankings as our Cardinal guru, cgolden, clung to the overall lead with his poorest effort thus far at 7-7.  There are still 12 weeks to pick and plenty of time for the rankings to turn around; there's still plenty of time to jump in and join RotB Pick'em for an opportunity to win some Cardinals' prize swag.

what!?!?

I better put my game face back on.

I feel the heat

There are several fast moving objects in the rear view mirror. I’m going to have to go home and watch Two for the Money before I make my picks this week.

Week 6...already?!

Okay, maybe some “cute” picks this week since I’ll miss most of Sunday’s game on stuck on an airplane. Picking a game wrong isn’t as torturous when you just see the final score; it’s worse when the score ticker across the bottom of the screen constantly reminding me for 5+ hours…

Atlanta (At home, Chicago will sober up quickly after that Detroit game last week)
Miami (I think this is the first time anyone has picked the Dolphins all year!)
Baltimore (Colts haven’t won at home yet…love that new warehouse they’re playing in!)
Minnesota (Lions…at least you have a nice stadium to look at)
Oakland (Okay, maybe a lot of “cute” picks this week…Al “the Lich” Davis will be justified for a week)
NYJets (Only because they’re home and coming off the BYE)
Carolina (Garcia again at QB? Hmmm, tough call, going with Delhomme on this one)
Washington (Former Sacramento Surge Defensive Coordinator Jim Haslett doesn’t have a hope in ‘ell)
Denver (Jags love to beat the Broncos in Denver but not with that O-line and WR corps)
Arizona (Gonna be a shoot-out, home field will actually exist for the Cards this year!)
Philadelphia (Eagles will be happy to play a non-NFC East opponent)
Green Bay (I think the ’Hawks’ spirit is on life support)
San Diego (NE could do it…Chargers ought to be pissed and playing their “hated” rivals)
NYGiants (Lately the browns coming out of my ass have been more entertaining than the Browns in Cleveland)

We all leave footprints in the sands of time, just watch out for the discarded fish hooks!

how dare you

Yes, but as a backup, but that’s not relevant!

Drop him!

Of course I’ve had Palmer sitting on my bench for the last 4 weeks so I can’t talk!

by AJ BirdWatcher on Oct 8, 2008 11:07 AM MDT up reply actions

Sorry, different league

I’ve been starting Delhomme, and even picked up JTO to play against DET & NO which turned out ok. Thankfully I dropped him right before NE picked him apart.

Ok, watched Two for the Money and ready to run the table

CHI – Eh, not feeling good about the pick but I’m not a Falcon-believer yet
HOU – The Texans aren’t a bad team and they prove it to the Dolphins
IND – As long as the Colts score 20 points they’re good
MIN – DET is fighting to be the worst team in the NFL and the Vikes won’t stand in their way
NO – NO is gotta be pissed about losing at home last week
CIN – Cincy’s played decent for three weeks now and they finally pick up a W
TB – Two good teams but Tampa is at home so I’ll go against CAR
WAS – STL will pick up a win somewhere but it won’t be against WAS
DEN – Two more good teams so I’ll take the home team again
ARI – F the Cowboys…..GO CARDINALS
PHI – Philly needs a win too bad to lose the Niners
GB – SEA is ravaged with injuries and GB is desperate for a win
SD – SD has to get it together eventually and it could be this Sunday
NYG – The Browns get another prime time chance to prove they suck

by cgolden on Oct 9, 2008 6:01 AM MDT reply actions

Oh yeah, well I just watched 'Three for the Money'

CHI – Close game I think
MIA – Hot streak
IND – Will score enough Sunday
MIN – Det & StL in a battle to see who goes winless the longest. (My $‘s on the Rams btw)
NO – Pissed after Monday night
NYJ – Favre’s clicking strong and Cincy’s a ticking bomb
TB – Toughest game to pick, taking the home team
WAS – See Minny above
DEN – Girrard will have a decent game, but won’t score enough
AZ – In case you’re keeping track, I haven’t picked against them yet
PHI – Niner fans are beginning to realize they’re in for another long season
GB – So are Seattle fans
SD – Needs this win just a little bit more, game could have wildcard implications
NYG – I might even bench J. Lewis this week in FF
BYE – Edges out a 3 point win over KC

Trying to buck the slide

ATL – I like their chances on a fast field
HOU – Some Sage advice – Stay on the sidelines dude
IND – Are they any good – I’m not sure but every time I pick against them they win
MIN – Umm no brainer right?
NO – Saints need to step up but Raiders might be fired up for new coach
NYJ – Jets beat us and that’s good enough for me.
CAR – Can’t follow who is QB for the Bucs this week
WAS – They is looking good
DEN – Ex Card Pittman to have a big week
ARI – Look out Pacman Fitz is coming
PHI – Cards extend their lead in NFC West
GB – Rodgers is too steady for the struggling hawks
SD – Not sure about the Pats, I’ll be a believer if they win this one
NYG – The G-men should be in cruise control here

by CardsIrish on Oct 10, 2008 3:08 AM MDT reply actions

cg, i'll wait till next week to catch you (b/c I have no idea about my picks this week)

Chi- Atl looks good at home though.
Mia- Hou is starting to figure it out, just need to finish the game.
Bal- Ind won’t score 3 times in 3 minutes this week.
Min- Marinelli needs to find a new hobby. Head coach isn’t it.
NO- Oak is better than they get credit for.
Nyj- Carson may not start .
Was- STL kinda sucks, just a lot. Hope I can still say that when we face them.
Jac- What happened to the D in Denver.
Ari- No way I’m picking Dallas two weeks in a row. Besides Ari all year baby.
SF- The one week I don’t pick Phi they’ll probably win. I hope they do, we need as much distance in the nfc west as possible.
GB- Sea will play better, but I hope they still lose. See above.
NE- SD is playing terrible. Who knows when they will wake up.
Nyg- Romeo should start looking for a new job.

by hevchv on Oct 10, 2008 4:40 PM MDT reply actions

CHI – kyle orton will rip atlanta’s secondary.
BAL – ravens d too much for indy.
CAR – why is tb favored? jeff garcia sucks.
MIN – it’s gus’ turn to shred the det defense.
WAS – washington is scary good.
OAK – NO will not recover from their home loss.
HOU – matt schaub is back.
NYJ – cincy is awful.
DEN – jay cutler will throw 4 tds.
DAL – i picked against the cards last week and they won.
SF – no westbrook, niners upset.
GB – seattle favored, but they’re terrible.
NE – sd isn’t as good as they should be.
NYG – gigantes will stay undefeated.

Matt Kemp for president.
Adrian Wilson for vice.

i knew i would have a terrible week...

but it was worth it. the cards are definitely moving up in the nfc while distancing themselves from the the nfc weak, i mean west. i couldn’t be happier. plus there is still 10 weeks left. WHEN I WIN the prize can go to the second place winner. i will just be happy to have won. just a little cocky, right.
