About RoTB Members
Hey everybody just checking to see what everybodys story is. Why they are Cardinal fans and what they do. How we are able to be on this site all day. Just a little info about yourself.
I am a customer service rep for a cell phone company called US Cellular. So I am always on the computer/phone reading about sports and of course the Cardinals when Im not talking to stupid customers. LOL. Im from AZ and been a Big Cards fan the last 5-6 years. Also big time Boldin fan too up until the whole contract thing this year. But Im hoping we get him resigned. I try to go to a game at least twice a year. Thats just a little of my story.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Revenge of the Birds' (ROTB) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of ROTB's editors.

This is a good question...
but it was asked a while back before you were a member. I just looked through the archives but couldn’t find the thread, CG, a little help?
Who would win in a fight, Whisenhunt, or God?
Daaaaaaaaaa Cards, Da Cards Da Cards Da Cards Da Cards!!!
Ah ha, here it is...

Anyone who didn’t get an opportunity to tell your story then, feel free to spill your guts now (or add anything that you left out earlier).
If I can add one question to the list though, how did everyone find ROTB? That’ll help me figure out the best ways to keep us growing.
I was googling the cardinals...
and the site popped up. I have been seeing more and more shout outs on azcentral. We could pull a lot of fans from there if we keep giving props.

CG, that fanpost is closed for comments...
is there a way to do a part two for newcomers?

Sure
I can either open the comments (they automatically close after a month) and we can all keep jumping through the link or we can just use this thread. If we use this thread, I’ll post a link on the previous post so that we can keep track of them. What do you all think?
Cool man

Can we change the date on the original post so it bumps back up?
And open up the comments section again?
I’ve been fighting Python scripts all week, thus my relative silence this week. I’m a GIS Analyst, as an on-site contractor for the US Forest Service. My principle duty is to maintain a state-wide vegetation/land-use map for California. Lots of field work all over the state, taking roads in a 4×4 I wouldn’t take in my own rig, pretty fun job for the most part. Some of what I do is process heavy so I have nothing “better” to do than read RotB.
I was clued in to its existence in August from AzCentral.com. The format is much more user friendly here and I don’t have to wade through pages of “you’re ghey, Cards suck, Bidwill eats babies” BS. Well, normally. ;-) I respect the work CG does here and respect my peers and their insight. A winning season helps too. Coincidence? I’d like to think not.

Okay, I can bump up the date but not re-open comments
We all leave footprints in the sands of time, just watch out for the discarded fish hooks!
I partly made this post though to see how everyone is able to blog on this site and a little about themselves, not just why they are a Cardinal fan.
cool
I opened the comments on the other post in case anyone wants to add to the “Why the Cardinals” post and we can learn a little about each other in this thread.
I’m a staff accountant at a manufacturing company in Dallas. I’m sitting in front of a computer all day but thinking about the Cardinals so I just put two and two together. My job is ultra-boring so this is the perfect diversion to keep me from going mad. Right now I’m spending way to much time ‘blogging’ and not near enough time actually working but it’s certainly a labor of love. I got married a year ago this September (missed the Steeler game b/c of honeymoon) and we had our first child a little girl this July (yes she did come after the wedding but not by much).
Congrats CG! Both on the wedding and daughter!
Outside of being a sarcastic instigator in my free time, I work as a mortgage consultant in Scottsdale, AZ (One of many reasons for my fandom). As you can imagine that leaves me a lot of free time to instigate and think up lots of fun new ways to use sarcasm. Please take nothing I say to seriously as I won’t with anything from you. I usually just open my mouth when I think something is funny and throw it out there. Judging by responses I have a unique sense of humor that few appreciate (that’s a nice way of saying “not very funny”).
I am scheduled to make an appearance as the groom in a wedding sometime soon, no date yet. I have a 9 yr old son who is in his first year of football and he scored a conversion point two weeks ago. It was great, he goes right high stepping into defenders, spots a gap between the DT and a LB and cuts left through the gap…“TOUCHDOWN”, well almost. Needless to say I’m not worried about paying for college anymore.
Out side of being a dedicated almost husband and full time father, I like to play poker, work out, play sports, watch football, and drink wine, oh and talk crazy shit to Seacocks Fans. SEAAAAAAAAAAACCCOCCCCCKKKKKKKSSSSS, SEEEEAAAAAAAACCCCCOOOOKKKSSSSSSSSSSS!
thanks and congratulations to yourself
Don’t worry about opposing fans. We’re all a little bit crazy, hell we have to be to have endured being Cardinals fans for this long.
Has your son caught the ‘Cardinal bug?’ I can’t wait to pass my infinite football knowledge onto my future son, should take all of about 90 seconds. :-)
Its funny how you guys have real lives
Im a Pharmacy student in Dublin, spend my days studying and drinking. Thats literally all I do, apart from running a few routes on sunday with our small excuse of a team here, and saying up late watching games illegally on the internet.
nice
At least you’re not self medicating, then again that might come in handy if the Cardinals ever revert to their former selves.
Drinking is medicating!

True Hawkwind. By the way, is anyone else finding that they cant really enjoy the recent Cardinal success because they have this terrible nagging feeling that everything is going to fall apart?
Just checked my email, our head coach has threatened to resign because our roster of about 25 doesnt want to move up from the 8 on 8 development league to full 11 a side this season. As hes the only coach we have, this could get ugly.
By the way Boogatt66, that sounds like a tough job. All you guys’ jobs sound quite difficult actually.

Umm, it is but it's also pretty interesting.
I like it when we get the kids in that think they are really tough stuff, and then completely get owned and change their act around. Most of them just don’t have guidance or a disciplinarian in their life and run the streets wild.
On another note,
is must be something in the espresso, the constant rainfall or maybe even their team sucking, but these assclowns over at fieldgulls are complete little girls. We’ve had banter before with Carolina fans and Sanantone that all in all it was pretty funny. These guys are just completely lame! Take a joke and lay off the caffeine fellas, you guys are too wound up. Being envious a our far superior blog is nothing to go flaunting around and be salty over:-)

I work for as a lead behavior specialist...
for a school district. In other words, I am in charge of running a “hands on” suspension program for behavioral challenged “rotten little Sob’s” :-) that the district sends to us in lieu of at home suspension. That way they are sitting in a cubical all day doing work instead of breaking into homes or smoking weed etc.. When I am not slamming kids\teens to a blue mat during work, I am sitting at my desk talking mess with my co-worker or cruising between ROTB and a few other favorites. We also like to cruise through the MCSO website and gaze upon the many degenerates in their booking photos. Almost all the internet is blocked here so there are only a few good sites left, ROTB being one of them. I started on ROTB at the beginning of this summer when it was a ghost town because it was the only place on the web to talk Cards dirt. CG has kept it interesting the whole time and it’s cool to kind of get used to everyone’s different ideas and mannerism. I was talking up the site to my friends and since the housing market took dive matty’s had extra time on his hands and been able to contribute, sorry brohymn. I’m into entertaining guest at my house, watching football, we played a ton of softball too before I got stabbed this summer (long story) and lost full movement in my glove arm. Pretty much the usual family stuff with my girl and her kids.
I had an idea but don’t know if it would ever come to fruition. Thought maybe all the regulars to ROTB could attend a game and show love to the birds and the best site on the web… Just an idea

Hell yeah!
It’s been nine years since I’ve seen the Cards in AZ…

wow, tough job man
Yea you were one of the earliest ROTBers. I started on May 1 and you joined on June 22nd. We’ve come a long way in just seven months and hopefully we’ll continue blowing up.
I’d love to make it out to AZ for a game but it might take me a while. A baby has a way of soaking up all of our excess cash.
Been thinking about that, too
Would be cool to lock down a block of seats for a game next season. That should give people time to plan for travel & whatnot. good fanpost for the offseason when single tix go on sale.
Likewise, Hawk I still plan on going to the game in SF next year, so I will be hitting you up in the offseason.

My pleasure AJ; I have plenty of buddies that root for the Niners...we can get a big group and give 'em 'ell
We all leave footprints in the sands of time, just watch out for the discarded fish hooks!
I know it would be a stretch for a few of you to make it out to a game...
with everything going on right now. There might be a few PR strings that could be pulled to get tickets to an event. Even nose bleeds aren’t that bad at the stadium if your surrounded by fellow fans.
I know it’s just a blog and there is not much clout as of yet, but have you got any endorsements from SB Nation for shirts, hats, bumper stickers etc. CG? I would rock the gear if we had some. Are you allowed to get sponsors or is that all SB Nation stuff?
Who would win in a fight, Whisenhunt, or God?
Daaaaaaaaaa Cards, Da Cards Da Cards Da Cards Da Cards!!!
not sure to tell you the truth
I haven’t heard of any other blogs starting merchandise but that’s something I can look into. As far as endorsements, that might have to run through the network. They’d pretty much control any advertisements or sponsors that go up on the page. Worth a look though, I agree.
Set up a RotB account on CafePress.com and we can order some t-shirts and the like with our screaming lass logo
And seriously, CG, you are doing an awesome job with RotB. If anyone wonders what life was like before CG, check the Archives and look at posts from last year. Talk about a tea party…with me, myself, and I. What a ghost town.
If the family duties call, don’t hesitate to call on any of us. We won’t sink the ship. Right guys?

Thanks for all of the props guys
I’ll just throw this out there, I know I’ve said this to a couple of guys through emails, but if any have ideas about how to make ROTB bigger and better don’t hesitate to send me an email. This site isn’t mine, it all of ours.
Hey CG did you ever consider making the baby’s middle name Cardinal? lol. just a thought. Good to know you guys and glad to be a part of the site. I will become a regular dont worry. Anytime you guys want to go to a game that would be great. Wow Hawkwind you dont know what you are missing. The stadium is intense. The fans go crazy. It gets so loud. The tailgating rocks too. That is the only time you will ever see so many Cardinal fans in one place.
My two times at Sun Devil were good...
…but I’d love to get to UoP and sit with a majority of Cardinals fans. My last experience at Sun Devil I was a very lonely Cardinal Chip in a very big Buffalo Bills cookie.
I took a couple buddies to the ‘98 game against NO. One of them works for FOX now so I’m waiting for my payback ticket from him. Instead, he offered me Family Guy DVDs. Hmmm. I’ll wait for tickets…

Work for a General Contractor
Currently working on a commuter rail system in Albuquerque/Santa Fe, but I’m based out of Phoenix. Own a house in Apache Junction, AZ (that’s where AJ comes from). Working in New Mexico isn’t too bad. I haven’t missed a reg season home game yet this year, but ready to get back home as soon as I can. Of course they could send me anywhere in the country after this job ends around Christmas. Hopefully that won’t hurt my stadium attendance.
First year season ticket holder. I have been following the cards for several years now and get more addicted each week. I’ve been reading faithfully since May this year. Love this site because it is virtually troll free. I don’t mind the weekly banter between the other team’s fans. Most everybody is pretty respectful. CG does an awesome job on the stories, and I enjoy everyone’s comments. One thing I regret is giving up my ROTB fantasy football team to my friend just because I couldn’t make it on draft day. I hear he’s doing pretty well though.
Other than that I sing & play guitar as my other hobby. That’s my drunken hillbilly band, “Rustbucket”, pictured on my avator. (I’m the young one) We don’t play out much these days since I’ve been working in New Mexico, but will start again if I ever get back to AZ. We do bluegrass, rock, blues & country, and we aren’t above playing for tips. (or booze.)
We'll have to catch a show...
What do you guys sound like? Roger Clyne and The Peacemakersish?
Let us know if you can get out to a game, I’d be happy to lift the tickets off of you:-0

You mean if I can't make a game?
I’ll definitely post here if I can’t make the stadium, but don’t get your hopes up. My company flies me home twice a month for weekends, and I schedule those trips around home games.
As far as our sound, we play all kinds of music, but we do em all bluegrass style. Strictly acoustic music featuring guitar, mandolin, banjo, dobro and washtub bass.

well
while growing up, i used to be one of those kids who jumped on the bandwagon of whoever won a lot of games. so my favorite teams when i was younger were the broncos and the packers.
i forgot how old i was, but i played nfl blitz for the first time accidentally got the arizona cardinals.. and i’ve followed them ever since. kinda weird/dumb/random story.
i’m a 19 year old college student at the university of las vegas nevada. i love watching dodger baseball and college sports (mostly football/basketball). i like to play basketball on my freetime. that’s mostly it.
Dodgers - 2008 NL West Champions
Tim Hightower for ROY.
Vegas huh?
So we can call you to put some bets down for us right? Just kidding man.
The Cards would have a heck of Blitz team right now, except that Warner isn’t very mobile. Funny how we all come together.
Nice to see that cgolden has amassed a readership here.
I remember looking over here a few times after he just started writing the blog, and seeing that almost no Card fans had yet discovered the site.
i found the site while googling also.
I don’t know when I actually started blogging, but I was always looking for extra stuff during and after the draft. I found this site and read a few times. I couldn’t find the site again, then accidentally found it and never looked back. I live in Orlando, Fl and work as a retail manager for the big mouse (Disney World). I am married (9 years in December) and have 2 girls (one 7 in december and the other 2 in march) so I guess you can say I’m the king of the castle. I previously wrote that I’ve been a fan for about 7 or 8 years, but it may be even longer. I remember trying to liken my game on the field to Aeneas Williams when I was in high school. I think it was around 91 or 92. I’m sure he had just been drafted and was causing quite a stir on espn in my area. We both played the same positions, safety and corner so he was my idol ( a hard hitting corner/safety with good cover skills). I guess my 7 or 8 years is really 16 or 17 years. Anyway, my days off rotate so I’m on the site as much as possible. During the week when my kids are at school and my wife is at work, I’m usually on all day. Sorry what can say, I’m a huge fan.
When the SB Nation all upgraded
and made it easier to be member of more than one board is when I found this place. I’ve been a member of the Diamondbacks site, AZ Snakepit, for three years now as baseball is my passion. I have lived in Phoenix for more than half my life now and believe strongly in supporting all the local teams (some of that left over mid west upbringing I guess).
I was at Sun Devil Stadium for that very first Monday night game against the Cowgirls. Even had season tickets for a while in the late 90’s. I have caught at least two games every season in all the years without season tickets.
I am a Process Engineer Technician for Lithography/Wet Etches at a local semiconductor plant, and I am going to school to finish my degree, BSEE. Even though I am just a tech by title, I have been given the chance to do a lot of engineer work, on my own and really, am treated as an equal by all the long time engineers in my group.
It's a job that's never started that takes the longest to finish.
