NFL has Already Ruled and Adrian Wilson is Safe from Punishment
For once the league made the right choice and they didn't waste any time doing it. A league official has already said they reviewed A-dub's hit on Hasselbeck and it was legal. There will be no fine or suspension.

He was safe the moment he got the word out...
..that Hasselbeck told him to expect a fine. If Matt was more of a jerk he would have denied it, and if he was thinking clearly after the game, he wouldn’t have said anything and the Hawks coaching staff would have handled the matter. In that case I think there was a pretty good chance Wilson would have been dinged.

You have to give Hasselbeck some props..
..for owning up to what he said, and retracting his statements afterwards. Others might not have been so honest. He did suffer a concussion somewhere in the game, and under the strict interpretation of the rules, the hit was illegal due to helmet to helmet contact. If Matt wanted to play dirty he could have. Send the medical report and the film to the league without saying anything publicly.

Well, it's a bit redundant now..
..but certainly Wilson was open to “prosecution” there under the “strict letter of the law”. Which could have entailed fairly severe consequences for him and the team. He is on notice, and will remain on notice for the balance of the season at least. I would think there would be a little more consideration given to the fact that Hasselbeck helped him off the hook rather than looking for revenge.
