Hey, Cardinals fans!
This is Ed, lead blogger at SBN's New York Giants site, Big Blue View. Just stopped by to answer any questions you might have about the Giants. We're a friendly bunch at BBV. Ask anything you like about the Giants and I will be happy to answer. Also, feel free to stop by Big Blue View, provided you keep it friendly. Our guys will be happy to debate with you.

Jacobs: really hurt or "just resting"?
I ask as #1: he’s my keeper RB from last year for my fantasy team and between him and Hightower (my newly elevated back-up RB), I’d expect more points out of Jacobs if he plays.
I ask #2: if he’s not really hurt and he’s sitting, is that an indication that the Giants may not be treating this game with the same hype they would, say, Washington next week?
We all leave footprints in the sands of time, just watch out for the discarded fish hooks!

Jacobs
All indications are at this point that Jacobs will play Sunday. He practiced today, and appears to be ready to go. Apparently, Plaxico Burress sat our with a hamstring, so that is something to keep an eye on.

What is Plax's injury
I saw in Couglin’s presser that it just sort of popped up over night.
Also, I’m sure you get this every week, but is patience with Plax wearing thin? They just signed him to a big deal so I’m assuming he’s there for a while but is it as bad as ESPN makes it out to be?

Hamstring
Giants aren’t saying much about it. No details on how bad, which leg, how he hurt or if he will play. I guess we will just have to wait and find out.

Ill let Ed
answer this question as it is a good one. But so will I.
#1: The Big Fella practiced today and as of today is not a LOCK to start but he will be considered, naturally. He is not hurt with any ligament damage and the coaching staff seemed more concerned about the swelling than anything the MRI showed. So as Fantasy goes, start him. I don’t see Hightower getting more pts than Jacobs this w/e. Even if Jacobs doesn’t start, he will be used in the goal line offense.
- The Giants treat every game with the same importance as the previous one and next one. Their professionalism in that case is awesome. This game is important b/c like the Panther’s later this year, we will see one of yous in the playoffs. So having a litmus test is always good to have. Remeber this Giants team had the playoffs locked up last year when they played the Pats to end the season. Coughlin did not have anyone rest, not even Plax. It catapulted them into the playoffs and we all know the rest. I don’t see how a year of success changes that.

Giants secondary
Since the Cardinals success this week will likely depend on how well KW throws the ball, how good is the Giants secondary? I know they’re ranked #2 in the league but I’m sure the pass rush has a lot to do with their success. Who’s the best player and who’s the weak link?

Interesting
The starting corners are Corey Webster and Aaron Ross. Webster is getting some Pro Bowl support, which is amazing since a year ago we thought he was a bust. He has become an athletic, playmaking corner. Ross was our No. 1 pick in 2007. He is big, fast, physical and he can catch the ball. My guess is he gets Boldin. Ross is not a shutdown guy yet, but he’s on his way to that level one day. Other corners are likely to be rookie Terrell Thomas and veteran Sam Madison. The Giants safeties are also athletic playmakers. They have Michael Johnson, No. 1 pick Kenny Phillips and James Butler. We like all the corners, though none are Champ Bailey. Butler might be the weak link among the safeties. The thing about this group is they don’t usually give up yardage after a catch. They tackle very well.

"They tackle very well."
That line is something that the Cards have been struggling with touch and go this season. I’m hoping this week that we’ve put this issue to rest and wrap up the ball carrier rather than just slam into him and hope he falls.

And they havent played receivers like Boldin and Fitz. They played Cincys duo but they are more speed receivers. They will have a tough time trying to tackle Boldin. Dont worry though, every team goes through it. : )
