Arizona looks to rebound in week 14 against St. Louis

Qnotesinside2_medium

Hey Cards fans, I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend, I know I must have gained a few waist sizes myself. With the week wrapping up and Thursday night’s disaster behind us, let's look to Sunday when the Arizona Cardinals take on the St. Louis Rams at University of Phoenix Stadium.

Card's keys to victory:

·         Ball control

·         Penalties

·         Special teams

·         Containing the Rams run game (Steven Jackson)

·         Give Kurt Warner time to throw the ball

·         Aquan bounces back after what could be his worst career game

I believe if the Cardinals are able to do these tasks effectively, we will win this game definitively and the score will reflect. The Rams have punched their clock on this season and are already looking forward to next year’s draft. If our beloved Cardinals are to make any noise in the playoffs, we absolutely can not drop this game to the Rams. Last time we played them in St. Louis; it was Tim Hightower’s coming out game so keep an eye on him and JJ because I think they will make some noise in the backfield this week.

So what are your thoughts on this week’s game? Who is going to have the biggest game on both sides of the ball?

Must have a dominant performance

The Cards need a confidence booster going into the last quarter of the season. I feel they need to win 3 to 4 of their remaining games to have the momentum needed to perform in the playoffs. Winning strongly against the Rams can go a long way towards a tougher matchup the following week against the Vikes.

I see them trying harder to reestablish the run in this game, for if they can’t do it against St. Louis, all hope will be lost. Defensively, I believe they should focus on shutting down SJ and force the rams into the air.

For sure!

I would imagine spirits are a little low after the last two weeks. Everyone must also remember that we had some guys on defense banged up. Once Hood is back and with the way DRC is playing, our secondary is looking pretty solid all of a sudden.

We need this. Big win if we can eliminate bonehead mistakes and poor tackling.

Reestablish confidence in all facets of the game

After last week, the Cards need to refocus and approach the Rams no different than the Giants a couple of weeks ago.

— Receivers need to bring the ball all the way in
— Special Teams need to cover kicks effectively
— Establish a run game and stick with it…this is the Rams
— Ben Graham needs to give us a reason to stop pining for Scott Player’s Fu Manchu
— Defense needs to stuff Jackson and harry Bulger to induce his patented interceptions
— Corners need to have a top notch game to get some needed swagger back

No game is a gimme and the Rams always seem to show some life when the Cards are the opponent. A quick start and don’t look back is well needed and due after four weeks of close victories and disappointing losses.

well said

I think everyone has laid out what we need to do to win but the bottom line is to play a good game from start to finish. The Cardinals are the better team and all they need to do is prove it to the Rams and to themselves.

Run game key

We really need to get the running game going early to try and build some momentum for the next few weeks.
The Defensive line really needs to step up and get some pressure and turnovers.

Lets win this division title in style by putting a solid game of football together on both sides of the ball and make sure we can be hopeful of a playoff run!

It would be nice to win it at home for the fans too

Where the hell has LaBoy been?

He’s been completely inaffective since his injury. Has he been playing banged up or something? I don’t get how you play awesome for 4 games and then go cold.

Was wondering the same thing

He was starting to become one of my favorite players before he disappeared. Hopefully, he will be back to form for the final run. The pass rush is much more effective with him wreaking havoc.

I wonder how much that injury has slowed him down

It’s hard to believe he had 17 tackles and four sacks in the first five games and he’s had 12 tackles and zero sacks since. There have been a couple games where I thought he played well despite not having a great boxscore to prove it (the Dallas game comes to mind). I also wonder how much his injury has slowed him down. There have been at least a couple of games that he hasn’t practiced at all or barely practiced on Friday. Hopefully ten days off will help him.
