This was one of the closest Cardinal of the week polls yet. Linebacker Gerald Hayes won with a season high 24 votes, nearly beating DRC who tallied up 22. This is the 3rd defensive player to win in a row. In fact, an offensive player has yet to win. Pretty interesting considering the teams strength is the offense. Hayes, who has already won NFC Defensive Player of the Week and was nominated for NFL Defensive Player of the Week by NFL.com, can now add RotB Cardinal of the Week to his resume (if he cares). If you haven't heard already, Hayes piled up 11 tackles, forced 2 fumbles, and recorded half a sack. Congrats Hayes on the big game. Hopefully come Sunday, an offensive player can stand out and win the honor.
