Just remember guys......we're still in the playoffs and we're still division champs. That's something that no other Cardinals team can say in the past three decades.

It's like getting invited to a formal ball and showing up naked

Except I’m afraid the Cards are going to show up in bondage gear and someone is going to get “medieval on the asses”.

Last year the Cardinals finished stronger than they started and being 8-8 felt like progress.

This year the Cardinals started strong and are falling apart at the end with 9-7 the likely final record. Does this really feel like progress or just a “NFC West Sucks But Someone Has To Win” pass to the playoffs? Considering the record against the rest of the conference, there’s no progress on that front.

I’ve had to go CAA (Cardinals Addicts Anonymous) to get off the Kool-Aid and the reality of this season is the Cardinals vanquished a lot of ghosts but haven’t quite found the winning “spirit” yet.

There’s a lot of work left to be done with this team to make them a regular division champion. Considering all the uncertainties of the off-season FA market and the fact the rest of the NFC West is picking ahead of the Cards in the draft I’m worried that the “once a decade” trend of winning seasons may continue.

So I’ll add my 2008 NFC West Division Champions pennant next to my 1998 NFC Eastern Wild Card pennant and hope I don’t have to wait until my kids have graduated high school in 2018 for the next one.

We all leave footprints in the sands of time, just watch out for the discarded fish hooks!
