Arizona Cardinals Practice Squad Tango
Hawk chimes in with the news that the practice squad is complete. It pains me that Chris Harrington isn't on the squad but he's got the talent to land somewhere else. I understand the depth at OLB but it's odd that they'd keep two defensive linemen and not a single linebacker. I'm also a bit surprised that Anthony Morelli didn't make the squad but, as others have said though, the practice squad can change at any given time. As for the new guys, we'll do some research on them and see what we can find out.
As reported by various sources, the Cardinals' Practice Squad has been announced. If there are going to be any surprises, this is the place:
CB Michael Adams
DL Jason Banks
DL Keilen Dykes
WR Lance Long
C Pat Ross
WR Onrea Jones (Indianapolis camp)
OL Anthony Oakley (Chicago camp)
CB Wilrey Fontenot (Atlanta camp)
No Harrington is the first surprise. No RB is too. Apparently Pat Ross didn't dress for nine or more games in '06 with the Seahawks and was eligible. Fotenot played at ASU.
The Practice Squad is always a dynamic roster in terms of tenure, especially late in the season when teams are looking to the offseason and summer rosters. One can argue the virtues of the current set and what the Cards should of done; perhaps with this thread under FanPosts it will stay on the "radar" throughout the regular season (or at least on the right hand side of your browser).
Chime in folks on your thoughts.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Revenge of the Birds' (ROTB) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of ROTB's editors.

What about Dennis Keyes
I forgot about him initially but he looked decent in the preseason.

A couple WR's leaves me head scratching
I understand the injuries with the center position and NT shaped some of the practice squad decisions, but why two WRs? Lance is a no-brainer and his absence would have induced a lynching of some sort. But why Onrea Jones? Are that many WR bodies needed to run the scout team? BSP is now the scout QB? Who’s the scout team RB? Maurice Carthon moonlighting? I hope to see Harrington back on the PS soon, even Morelli.
Have any of the Cards’ players ended up elsewhere?

No one yet
Digging through each team’s website looking for their Practice Squad rosters didn’t reveal any ex-Cards so far. A few teams still haven’t named their Practice Squad rosters while others haven’t bothered to allot the full eight. Hopefully someone at azcardinals.com will note if Morelli/Harrington/Keyes/etc are picked up by another team.
I did see that our old “friend” James “Buster” Davis was claimed off of waivers by the Colts after getting cut from Detriot. He played in the last game of the season last year for Detroit. What a glorious draft pick that was…

Buster
is the same height as Bob Sanders. If he lost some wait could he back him up at safety? 5’9" is just too short for a line backer. What did Whiz see in him to warrant a third round pick anyway. Who else was available in the third that could have helped us?

Buster
Who knows what, if any, Buster’s role wil eventually be but he’d have to get quite a bit faster. He only ran a (4.64-4.74) so I’ve not sure that he’d make a decent safety. If he had any real skill, he’d be able to make a mark on special teams. Sadly though the third round of that draft was pretty unspectacular. Jacoby Jones and Jason Hill are the only two names that jump out at me but it has only been one season.

cover 2
Well at least he will be back in a cover 2 with Indy. Detroit ran a cover 2 so I’m sure he will be comfortable. Who knows. They do use a lot of undersized players at almost every position on defense. This may work to his favor. We all know he is tenacious. If he can show some quickness and IQ, this may work out for him.

Next move in the tango
Center Enoka Lucas and tight end Alex Shor were signed to the practice squad. The center makes sense considering the situation there, and Alex’s return to the PS has me wondering how Tuman’s leg is. I am surprised that Chris Harrington is still absent.
Oliver Celestin was also resigned to the team.
