Regular Season, here we go!
Game of the Week: Dallas @ Cleveland
If the Browns are “for real” this year, beating Dallas at home has to be the proof.
Intrigue of the Week: Jets @ Miami
Nevermind the Favre melodrama, what do you think Pennington has in mind for the ‘ol Jets? Aren’t you wondering what Pace will do in Green & White? Is Ricky Williams going to be a force? Lots of questions here.
Yawner of the Week: Detroit @ Atlanta
Detroit might look unbeatable for a week….but only a week.
We all leave footprints in the sands of time, just watch out for the discarded fish hooks!
Oh yeah, picks:
I always stunk at guessing these games when the spread was involved, maybe I can not embarrass myself with pick’ems:
Giants (Zorn is gonna bonehead something now things are "live")
Lions (Kitna will give all the credit to God of course)
Ravens (Stover scores all the points, Ravens headhunt the Bengal WRs)
‘Hawks (Bills will keep this close though)
Jets (’Phins still stink)
Patriots (What preseason concerns?)
Saints (Beat a hurricane, beat Chuckie too)
Eagles (Westbrook just blows up this week)
Texans (That bourbon Kool-aid works for more than the Cards)
Jaguars (Titans keep any WRs this year?)
Browns (Tabloids show Romo getting doggy-styled by the Browns’ mascot)
Chargers (Steve Smith tries out for Olympic boxing this week)
Cards (JT O’Sullivan wishes he was back in NFL Europa)
Colts (Manning was hurt?)
Packers (Rest assured, one GB QB will have an NFL start after this week)
Broncos (Raiders will make it rough but it’s Raiders week in Shanahan’s mind)

Already blew 4
Sunday afternoon, and I’ve already missed on 4 games. Typical week 1!

Hey if anyone wants to set up a ROTB pick’em league, that would be cool and it looks like there’s some interest in it.
I'll tally results
I can keep a running tally of our prediction results and post an overall record each week. That should only be an extra 10 minutes of work to attach to my Tuesday morning fantasy football league manager duties.

Should we boost this to the main page before tonight?
Only 4 of us right now, maybe it needs a little more advertising.

also another way to keep things visible for longer than a normal story
is to recommend it. You can do that on any ‘main page story’ or fanpost, fanshot or even an individual comment. It’s a feature that the network added so that some stories will stay visible longer and be highlighted, if enough people recommend them. To recommend something, just look at the bottom of a story and click on the icon that says “Rec.”

Is there a way...
…to make a thread “sticky”, so it stays at the top of a list? That would be handy for the “NFL ’08 Pick ’em Overall Standings” thread I’d start after the Week 1 results are ready to post. Any suggestions on a format? I was thinking a pretty basic list format (I cannot seem to format columns…there must be a way):
Name
Overall Record
Pick Accuracy %
Weeks Picked
The order would change on a week-by-week basis and would be posted as an additional comment to the original thread. Or I can edit it on a weekly basis if the historical record isn’t needed/wanted.

There's not a way to make it sticky
But with it being recommended it’ll stay up there for a while and I might be able to post it with an updated time. I’ll check on that.
Format sounds good though and I can ‘promote’ it so that it gets some main-page love.
Three recommendations is the key to getting bumped up.
Cool, CG.

yep that's how many it takes
Once the community grows and everyone gets used to all the bells and whistles of the site we’ll up it. Most of the other teams have minimums of five or six, but we’ll get there.

Nice job CI.
Hopefully we’ll all improve after week 1’s madness.

Thanks AJ
Luckily we weren’t weighting our picks as the Colts have messed up one of my Survival pools already!
I have the code stashed somewhere
to format columns and to effectively create a spread sheet. I just have to find where I stashed my cheat sheet on my personal website.
I do find it interesting that the Patriots and Cardinals were the two 8-0 predicted games. Also, none of us gave the Bears or Titans a chance. Any given Sunday…

Wow
I sucked! I picked NYG and Dal on my office pool but figured I’d look like a guru if they came lost and I picked them. But what about Tom Brede??? I am screwed! I picked him up first on all my fantasy leagues and now I got Hasslehoff starting, what the crap!
That's a bad deal.
Hasselbeck would have been a better than average backup if it wasn’t for all his WR injuries.
