Cardinals Heating Up - Revenge of the Birds
- Larry Fitzgerald - Had a franchise record game for the playoffs and has been upstoppable lately.
- Dominique Rogers-Cromartie - Virtually shut down Steve Smith. Has had INTs for 3 consecutive weeks.
- Tim Hightower - Jumped from cooling off to heating up. Controlled the clock on Saturday while racking up 76 rushing yards.
- Deuce Lutui - Has been silent recently and that is a good thing. Nice to see him maturing.
- Ralph Brown - Also has had INTs in the two playoffs games. Has stepped up nicely as a 3rd string CB.

What is scary-good is Warner hasn't truly been "hot" yet
Maybe this week?

That is scary. Can you imagine?
I was really thinking of adding Rackers. He’s almost back in my good-graces.

He nailed those four and would have had the fifth at UoP.

Eagles Fan Perspective
Hey Andrew, just wanted to stop in and see the chatter on Cards blogs. Your team has been heating up for sure. I’ve seen some comparisons to the last game between these two teams and I personally think that game is irrelevant. Neither of these two teams are the same at this stage of the year.
The Cards defense has fueled this resurgence. As an optimistic Eagles fan, it seems that both the Panthers and Falcon are far more one-dimensional than the Eagles. By this I mean that the Cards could commit to the run knowing full well that the QB would not change the game. I’m not sure they have that luxury against a balanced Eagles attack.
In any event, enjoy the game and keep up the good work here. I’ll be stopping in throughout the week—go easy on me.

You make a good point...
The game plan for both the ATL and Carolina game was centered around stopping such a dangerous run threat, and we haven’t seen what the new energized Cardinals Defense can do against a balanced offense. I was really thinking about how the game plan will be changed due to McNabb’s arm and legs, as well as the always respected Westbrook. This is going to be a great one.
I think the Cards will break down a lot of the tape from last week and try to do a lot of what the Giants were doing to eliminate Westbrook. If they can, it will force our CB’s to be at the top of their game, and our LB’s to stop McNabb if he starts running out of the pocket.

Don't forget...
yes this is a totally new game and all bets are off. I think we will commit to the run again to take Westbrook out of it. It is very important to make them a one-dimensional team. Yes I know that other dimension (McNabb) is just as, if not more dangerous. But remember this: Hood is very familiar with McNabb having practiced against him and is a very good cover corner. DRC. One word, SHUTDOWN. I see great matchups with their two top receivers. I definately think A-dub can handle LJ Smith. Even Ralph should do well against their third receiver. The biggest matchup to me will be Rolle and Westbrook out of the backfield. If we can get a good bump off of him on the line, we may be able to disturb his routes. But he will be extremely dangerous on screens. Are we ready for that. We will need PRESSURE GALLORE on McNabb to be successful. I feel good though. Karma is a b!tch and McNabb’s antics will catch up with him sooner or later. Why not now? Sorry for the rant. First day off this week and I’m full of blah, blah blah.

I know the linebacker usually picks up the back, but I think they will use him as a spy on McNabb. I see Rolle playing a lot of the game a little closer than A-dub to pick up Westbrook. This might mean a lot more nickle with Ralphy Boy or Fransisco playing deep.

+1
Last time round I believe we did get some pressure on McNabb and he was able to turn it into positive yards.
This game will be the toughest post season game to date. But our secondary is playing the best I have ever seen. If they can disrupt some of there short pass plays, stop the big plays, then it should make it interesting.

I want to see McNabb scramble for a first...
And get wrecked by an A-Dub hit!

Good input guys..
Really feel like our D is a completely different unit since the last meeting and the result will not be the same.
