Finding prospects in the UFL

Odell Thurman continues to be a beast, but I wonder the likelihood of bringing in some other players from the league.

Star-divide

The UFL has stated that any of its players are allowed to sign with the NFL after the season is over.  I expect a few of them to populate practice squads all across the league, but I am interested to know if the Cardinals are taking a look at anyone.  LB Maurice Krum Jr. (http://www.und.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/crumjr_maurice00.html) could be an interesting UDFA prospect.  Started every college game for 3 seasons, played in a 3-4 D his senior year, and currently plays for the Redwoods (6 TAK, 1 FR).  Graham Gano (K) is a UDFA who competed for the starting job in Baltimore in the off-season, and has almost certainly drawn enough attention to play somewhere in the NFL.  There are plenty of others who merit consideration, especially for teams with some holes in their roster.

I've noticed a lot of former Cards playing here (surprise?).  Adam Bergen (TE), Chase Bullock (LB), Carlton Medder (G), Steve Sanders (WR), Marcel Shipp (RB), Wendell Bryant (DT), Enoka Lucas (C), Obafemi Ayanbadejo (FB), are all names I quickly recognized, not to mention ol' Denny.  A couple of the guys were just here this summer.

Anyone in particular catch your eye?  Am I the only one who actually watches the games?  Lemme know what you think.

I didn't even know their season had started

Regardless though I’m sure that some of the guys will bounce back into the NFL once guys get injured. Just look at the two “off the street” guys we signed last year, Spach and Hobson). Given the choice between guys who are selling insurance or whatever or a guy who’s played well in the UFL, I’m sure teams would take a guy who is at least in shape and used to playing ball.

I’m sure the Eagles are scouting some MLB’s after losing their second linebacker to the IR already.

Be careful....to a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Haha

Yeah, I think they just finished week 3 today or yesterday. I recently discovered we get Vs., so I’ve put 1 game a week on the DVR and caught them later. The UFL isn’t bad, but there are some problems — the 3-0 team is the team that has recycled the most ex-NFL players. Which means that there aren’t really a lot of unknown prospects playing there, or the ‘raw’ guys who just need some more experience to really be NFL-credible… As an example, Brooks Bollinger is dominating…

Not very well it seems

I’m not sure that I’ve gotten to see whatever team he’s with yet, but officially he has yet to record a stat.
