Should DRC play up closer to the line?
I hope this doesn't sound foolish but could someone explain something to me. DRC is extremely athletic and can run with virtually any receiver, why doesn't he press at the line of scrimmage more? It seems like we give up a lot of short passes because he is playing off and they turn into decent gains because he is not the best tackler.
Am I missing something or would this help disrupt those timing routes?
Thanks,

The Cardinals play Wilson near the line of scrimmage a lot
They give up the big pass too much if they play closer to the receivers. So I’m assuming they’d rather give up a 7-8 yard pass then a big touchdown. Just my opinion.
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.

it also takes a physical corner to consistently jam recievers
DRC is crazy athletic but he is not physical corner by any means. I would guess that most recievers would be able to get through his jam pretty easily and he would be playing catch-up right from the start.
If anyone should be jamming more often, it’s McFadden. He is strong enough to disrupt routes and timing of opposing passing games.

Also
being off the ball would allow DRC to see the run better and to come up for support. With him locked up early with a receiver on the line, he is not strong enough to shed the block and will not be able to fill his lane. Being off the ball gives him the opp to avoid the block to make the tackle. The bump also doesn’t give him time to quickly read the QB before he turns his hips to run. Basically he can stay in his back pedal longer.
Life's too short. Be a fan. Orlando Magic, Arizona Cardinals,Tampa Bay Rays and of course "the U"! What a winning combo.
Its a scheme too, not just the athlete or his abilities.
Without watching tape I feel that Wilson is up at the line a lot for blitzes, run stopping and TE coverage so to compensate the team drops the corners into cover 3 schemes. I don’t think we run much cover two as our safeties are more physical.
Side note; I really feel that Rolle has really started to become a good FS. His transition from CB to FS seems to be a great move. He is leading the team with 4 INT’s.
