Boldin was on Doug & Wolf this morning and when asked about his respect for Whiz he blows by Whiz as he talks of respect for everybody and says he and Whiz have a "working relationship". Click on the link, scroll to mid page, go to the right and click on the link to hear Boldin speak (you have to get through some charity stuff for about 60 seconds till it starts),

What are your thoughts? I am completely done with him and even though I doubt we can get a 1st rounder for him now unless he comes on REAL strong the second half of the year I want to trade him right after the season. I would be more than happy with a 2 & 3.

Editor's note: Thanks to our friends at KTAR, here's the audio from Q this morning.

Just heard Boldin on ESPN radio

He clarified a little bit about the reason he was so upset with the Bears game time decision, it wasn’t the decision (now that he’s not raging mad), it was the way it was handled. He’s doing an excellent job of staying in the middle politically, but he’s sticking to ostracizing himself from the coaches and front office by continuing to say things like “I’ve never had a problem with any of the players”.

He did catch on that he was starting to make it a negative interview but turned it around by talking about how well the team is playing and will continue to play.

The one thing that stuck out to me is that he wouldn’t even concede the point in any way that sitting against the Bears helped him have a great week against the Seahawks. He said he felt exactly the same. Even though he was pulled out of the Carolina game because he reinjured his ankle. I think he’s just being stubborn, but we all know two weeks to let your body heal is beneficial.

He won’t concede it because it hurts his “big contract” chances. Teams are looking at him and seeing that he is missing games every year because of injury and he notices this. He is mad because this hurts his wallet.

Good point Pyro. Though I would think he could see that other teams are going to see through the thick headed things he’s putting out, and see that he is human and he heals like a human.

I would also think he would be able to see that agreeing or working with the HC and becoming recognized as being a negotiable player rather than an “angry at the FO” player would be beneficial.

I think you're

overreacting a bit on this. While he and the Whiz probably don’t invite each other to dinner, they’ve proven that they can effectively co-exist with each other when the games begin. I didn’t hear anything that would make me call him “just another 81,” especially when the interview starts, and he’s being asked about how he works with the at-risk in youth Phoenix to help make their futures brighter.

Even Whisenhunt said that he can appreciate that a competitor always wants to play. We’ve said it many times before, and it bears repeating, that we’re a better team with him than without.

I think everyone (media especially) is quick to judge and label him another “diva” WR. He doesn’t need to drool over his coach to make me think he’s a good team player. The money was probably a factor in his comments about his late scratch from the Bears game, but I think he also just wants to be out there like all the other 31 players not out on the field. We all saw how Edge felt about being sat out of games.

I am tired of the melodramatics by Boldin too.

This

is another wait and see moment. I am sure he will talk more like this again for the rest of the season. Then he will talk again about his contract and more money. Then he will talk again about getting out of Arizona because they can’t agree. More likely Boldin will be done in Arizona because Breaston has stepped up and shown he is capable. I think Boldin was brought back more as an insurance policy to see how Breaston and Doucet worked out. Now they know and can decide after the season what to do.

Boldin is so awesome

I can count on one hand the number of players in the nfl that i respect more than boldin.

Having said that, from a business perspective it makes sense to trade him once the season is over. It would most likely be best for the future of the Cardinals to get some high value draft picks through a trade rather than one last year of Q’s services, or resigning him to an expensive deal.

We will have a lot of urgent needs after this season. Building through the draft is the recipe for success.

I would be happy with a high 2nd round pick and maybe a 4th or 5th. The 2010 draft should be loaded with talent and 2nd round picks have the potential to be as good 1st rounders in previous years.

Yea, should be loads of talent in the 2010 draft.

Plus, Whiz has shown he can get decent talent in the later rounds.

Leinart really is not a star yet and I was talking about the 5th round picks like Hightower and Breaston.

Also....

Q and Hayes were drafted by Dave McGinnis not Denny Green.

I'm done with everyone saying they're done with Q

Don’t buy into the media’s bullshit that Q’s a huge distraction and is just trying to get traded. As far as his contract, I would be pissed to. Larry (nothing against hime he earned his pay day) came in a year after Q and got a huge contract before him, which is really shiity on the organization’s part, because Q came in immediately and made an impact. They promised him a new contract TWO years ago, and there’s been no negotiations between the parties. And the whole time he’s been here (besides injuries) he’s produced like a #1. This team, and we as fans, owe Boldin a huge amount of respect, gratitude, and credit for what he’s done for this team. No Boldin, no Superbowl. So before everyone gets the lynch mob together to run him out of town, think about what he means to this team, and what we would be without him. Think about it, why would Fitz and Warner want to restructure their contracts just to keep him here if he really wasn’t all that vital to this team? I’m not saying we can’t survive without him, but those playoffs sure would seam like long shot wouldn’t they? So to the fans, love Q for what he is: the fire under the ass of the offense; and to the Cardinals organization, pay the mother fucker, he deserves it.

Q and Fitz both got their 2nd contracts early

Q might be pissed b/c Fitz’s was a much larger contract but that’s because he’s a much better player.

Why would the playoffs be a long shot without Q? He’s great and all but we’re plenty capable at the WR spot with or without him.

They promised him a new contract TWO years ago, and there’s been no negotiations between the parties.

Also, it’s been widely reported that they offered him a new deal before Fitz accepted his new deal and he turned it down. While we don’t know the numbers associated with that deal, there have at least been negotiations.

Oh and one more thing, Q will never get paid like a number one. Not here or anywhere.

Never say never

There are some crazy team owners who might pay Boldin number one money, especailly in a uncapped year. Snyder and Davis’s names come to mind.

true, there are some crazies but Boldin isn't a Davis kind of guy

Terrible?

What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.

+1000

Boldin has been the spiritual leader of this offense for years. Not Fitz . Not Warner or anyone else the fans want to talk about period.

he was up until last year. that ended when he tore his own panties

and called out his coach. The man everyone in the league respects,… excpet for Boldin. it is evident on the sideline that Boldin is not as admired as he was 2 years ago. The torch has passed.
