Assuming Warner is cleared to play Sunady, should Whiz allow him to play?
I think at this point, we can (almost) all agree that Kurt Warner is the best QB we have on our roster. With his probable concussion from the Rams game, does it make sense for him to play against the Titans on Sunday?
Here's the way I am looking at it: With a week's worth of practicing with the 1st team, Leinart would probably be a servicable QB for the game, and it would allow Warner to get completely healthy for the stretch run and playoffs.
Let's face it, the division is almost a certainty at this point. Does it make more sense to get Warner completely healthy and let Leinart get some burn, or do we risk further injury by bringing him back to soon?
On another note, can we beat the Titans with Leinart at the helm? What do you guys think?

Should is the key word
It appears Warner is going to want to play and assuming he gets cleared my guess is he will play but you are definitely asking the right question, should he play?
From Warner’s standpoint he has to be thinking about life after football. This may be his last year and, if not, my guess is next year is it for him. He has to balance life after football with his desire to win and compete.
I think it’s possible to beat the Titans with Matt, but much less likely. In the NFL "any given Sunday" is still the quote. If I had to put probabilities on it I would say we win 75% of the games against the current Tennessee team with a healthy Warner and 40% with Matt after one week of him getting all weeks reps with the first team. I think (and hope) Matt’s numbers would go up as he got more practice reps and game experience.
I agree the division is pretty well done, but I’m sure Denver thought that last year too. I hate to take the pedal off the gas right now. The way the NFC is looking, we could have the division locked up after week 14 (Dec 14th), but have not real shot at getting a first round playoff bye, which would mean we could rest guys with injuries for a whole month of meaningless games (Detroit, Rams, Packers) if we wanted to. The first home playoff
game would be January 9 or 10.
Finally, from the team standpoint, at some point in time (for the future of the franchise) we need to see where Matt is. Tennessee doesn’t have the strongest db’s and the Cards running game is coming around, so this might be a good game to give Matt a test. Although, Matt could also get a lot of playing time in the potentially meaningless games I talk about above.
Personally, I lean toward sitting Warner, but my guess is that is not going to happen.

He should
Warner should start. Whenever Kurt plays every game in the season that team makes it to the Super Bowl. That stat was revealed to me during the Rams game.
Welcome to ROTB ezero
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.
Revenge of the Birds
Warner will likely want to start
But should he? hmmm…Well if you look at the big picture, which is him not furthur risking injury it makes sense for him to not play. The Cardinals are playing for the #2 seed as well, and with the Vikings game coming up, it is important. I think Warner and Whiz will make the right decision.

Revenge of the Birds
If Warner is healthy he should get the start.
But I would like to see the Cardinals give Matt more time in practice with the starting offense in case he has to go in again.

I thought about this at the gym yesterday while watching OTL on ESPN
The first concussion segment was on Roethlisberger and my first inclination was that these players need to be careful and that life after football is more important than playing a game. Well, at least more important than taking a week off to fully recover. There are too many stories of players completely being broken down and not remembering where their keys are or what their daughters’ name is.
Then the story discussed Warner, and while his situation is different than Big Ben’s 4 concussions in 4 years (don’t forget the motorcycle crash), it still made me question how I feel about my QB being held out a week. I first thought that Warner is in a different situation and that he would be fine, but I am just not sure. We have a three game lead on the 49ers and we are playing a non-conference foe. Would it really hurt us all that much if he missed one week and got healthy? I don’t think it would really hurt us in the short term and it certainly would help Warner in the long-run.

Seeding is still in the balance
Would we rather be #3 or #4? If that doesn’t matter then sit Kurt out against the Vikes’ brutal pass rush too as there’s no point in chasing after #2 then and a 100% Warner is necessary come playoffs.
We all leave footprints in the sands of time, just watch out for the discarded fish hooks!
Don't know about that
If he’s borderline ready this week then, yes, I’d rather sit him out against the Titans. However, a week off should mean he is more than fine for the Vikings. And the Vikes are a much different story than the Titans. Warner playing them would give him the experience of playing against their D.

I think his rythm would be ok
I am more concerned with the stretch run and having a 100% healthy Warner for the playoffs. I think if he is even a little under 100% we should sit him against the Titans. That’s a game the Cards would probably still win with Leinart. The Vikings game we can win, but only if Warner plays and the Cards play their best game of the season.
It does seem like we are starting to really hit our stride though, and this is the time of year when we need to cvatch fire if we’re goign to make another Super Bowl run…
We all bleed Cardinal Red, but most of us don't recognize it!
1 week off for a guy with Warner's experience...
…against the Titans wouldn’t throw him off too much. Or at least it shouldn’t. His health is key and if a week off gets him back all the way to 100% then it’d be worth it.

Warner should start
He will be fine, the Titans are dangerous right now and we will need our A game to get the win.
Health first
So, if Warner says he’s healthy we play him. That’s it. What else is there to it? I coach and I tell my young kids all the time, playing scared is playing to get hurt. So it comes down to that, will he play with confidence or will he play scared? Scared, sit em.
I agree with Drullin, we can’t take our foot off the gas pedal. We need to whoop these guys up and down the field if we can. Every game needs to be a statement game.
They are who we thought they were!

Great thing about the Cards these days...
…is that we have a coaching and training staff…and even a front office (!!)…that I trust completely.
Personally I feel as though whatever the decision in regard to Warner is, it will indeed be the best decision for the team and for the season.
That hasn’t been true in the past.
