LaRod Stephens-Howling Wins NFC Special Teams Player of the Week
Just as we imagined, the Cardinals 7th round draft pick, LSH won the NFC Special Teams player of the week award for his 1 special teams tackle, his three punts downed inside the 5 yard line, and his 99 yard kick return for a touchdown that swung the momentum back into the Cardinals favor. From Mike Sando:
Cardinals rookie LaRod Stephens-Howling, already basking in Stock Watch glory and NFL.com rookie acclaim, is the NFC's special-teams player of the week.
Players from winning teams tend to win these awards.
Stephens-Howling's performance was enough to transcend the outcome of Arizona's 20-17 defeat at Tennessee. He downed punts at the 5-, 2- and 1-yard lines. He returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown.
As a seventh-round draft choice, Stephens-Howling is the type of player personnel analysts love to uncover. That would be Cardinals personnel director Steve Keim taking a bow, assuming he was onboard with the selection.
LSH is also leading the way for the Cardinal of the week award.

He's also a candidate for the NFL's rookie of the Week award.
Be careful....to a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
I voted for him.
Although Britt will probably win since people are still ecstatic over Vince Young and the Titans…
Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan.
No band-wagoner fans allowed, pick a team and stick with em, throughout the good and the bad.
Congrats LSH
I’m looking forward to watching his career progress. Got to give the FO credit for picking up as many late round gems as they have over the past few years.
