Mike Gandy's Injury Might Be More Serious Than We Originally Thought
While perusing around AZcentral.com I ran across the story talking about Warner's hip (which he says is ok) and buried at the bottom was a concerning statement about Mike Gandy's pelvis.....
There were concerns late last week that Gandy may have to undergo surgery to correct the problem, but the Cardinals' medical staff doesn't think that is a necessary option.
Now I'm certainly not a doctor and the closest I've come to diagnosing an injury is watching House every Monday but this sounds like a bigger problem than I originally thought. Gandy and Whisenhunt still sound optimistic about him returning to practice this week and potentially playing on Monday but it seems odd to go from "possibly surgery" to "ready to play" in a weeks time.
I'm sure with Jeremy Bridges strong showing this doesn't seem like a big issue but it could turn into a domino effect considering that now Brandon Keith is the primary backup and could be forced into duty at any position along the line, outside of center. Either way it's something worth keeping an eye on and it might be the safest strategy to hold him out until he's clearly 100% rather than force him back into action before he's fully comfortable. There's also the possibility that with a games worth of tape out there on Bridges, the 49ers will have a better plan of attack on him than the Vikings did. Thoughts?
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Revenge of the Birds' (ROTB) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of ROTB's editors.

Possible
but the new-found blocking ability of our backs and TE’s (Hightower and Patrick, in particular) should make it a relatively easy adjustment if Bridges comes crashing back down to earth in terms of sliding someone to that side. What I’m most impressed with is how good the overall blocking schemes are from tackle to tackle. Physically, Minnesota controls the line of scrimmage as well as anyone on both sides of the line but as we all saw, our OL and DL had no trouble matching up to them.
While everyone who has received praise has earned it, I think we’re seeing the Russ Grimm effect now that he’s had a couple of seasons to put his stamp on the OL.
Troubling
Hopefully this is not the case. Everyone was pleased with Bridges’ play and I like Keith as much as the next guy, but I do not like the prospect of both of them being out there long-term at this point.
If there’s a positive, it would be that we may get to see more of what Bridges is capable of…
I'm not sure what is more alarming...
…Gandy’s injury or Bez watches House rather than MNF.

sadly I DVR everything
that’s why I’m never in the game threads. If I watch a game three hours after it starts, I’m normally ahead of schedule. A family combined with a passionate hatred for commercials has me DVR-ing everything these day.
Also just for those that are curious, you can watch a full game in about an hour and half if you fast forward through commercials and half-time. Talk about efficiency.
Be careful....to a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Just giving you a hard time, Bezekira.
I figured as much on the DVR front. It’s hard to imagine TV viewing without one.

dude commercials suck. Imagine how many more people would watch NFL games if they weren't so thoroughly polluted with advertisements
Except for the Super Bowl
Where people that aren’t even fans of football will watch the game for the commercials.

This is what I do, as well =)
My ‘skip forward’ is just about the length of whatever commentary & replays fit in between every play, which cuts off another solid 40 minutes or so… hence why I am able to “watch” like 4 games a week instead of maybe 1… Trust me guys, if your only option every week was the Bills… you’d skip everything, too.
We have to meet halfway somewhere to watch the playoff game together, tw3kr
Rochester?
I can empathize as if it weren’t for DVR/Sunday Ticket I’d be resigned to Jets/Giants when the Pats aren’t on. ::retching sounds::

I don't know what I would do if that's what I was stuck watching.
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.
Revenge of the Birds
At least you don't have to hear about everyone whining about the cowgirls.

Can you say Bucs???
Yeah. I think I got you all beat. Though luckily I can switch to the Jags or the ’phins on most occassions.
Life's too short. Be a fan. Orlando Magic, Arizona Cardinals,Tampa Bay Rays and of course "the U"! What a winning combo.
Rochester??
Didn’t I see you guys on the news this morning with your blizzard? But then I’m referring to Rochester, Mn so this may not even apply to you if you’re in a different Rochester.

Hah, Rochester's a little out of the way
Elmira makes more sense but there’s not really much there other than strip malls and an all-girl college. Hmm… ;)
Glad a bunch of us are stuck in crappy regional NFL broadcast hell!
Don't bother he'll just stand you up anyway ;-)
Just kiddin Hawk. Too bad you couldn’t make it in time for the Giants game.
Though it seemed much more relevant at the time before they went on their big losing streak

Penalties
Well one silver lining is our offensive penalties would surely decrease with Gandy missing more time:)

Gandy will be active for MNF
He practiced fully on Thurs, so he could be slated to start. My hopes is that we keep Bridges in to reward him a couple games for his performance against Minny. He definitely showed that he deserves to play.
