Arizona Cardinal of the Week: Super Bowl Edition
Well folks, the big game is over and we are not the champs. Now technically they aren't, but in my book the Arizona Cardinals are the champs. I'm not here to say they should've won or they got screwed over but I will say they fought there hearts out and never rolled over. It was already hard enough to accept that they lost and make this post so I'm going to keep it short. There were positives in this game and the most important were how the star players stepped up. To me, it was a three-way race for CotW. (Just as a side note, Kurt Warner has yet to win Cotw so far this season).
As always, if you feel anybody should be added just drop a comment with who and why.

Dockett was a beast, the best I've ever seen him play
Warner was Man of the Year, so he doesn’t need a CotW award. ::wink:: Unless that will help him to come back next year then we can give him the first half of the season’s CotW Awards since we started late.

I know you don't want to dwell on mistakes
but the onus is on Pendergast for calling terrible plays on the Steelers’ last drive. Why he would call that all-out blitz was beyond me and duly pissed me off (and I’m a Giants fan). I was pulling for you from NFC championship to the SB.
Looking at the positives though, even though you left without a title, you got the respect of NFL fans everywhere. The thought process of the casual football fan regarding the Cardinals and seeing the Cards on your team’s schedule has completely changed. Everyone has gotten to know the talent of Dockett, Wilson, Hightower, Breaston, Urban… the team is solid and that shift from being perceived as a crappy franchise to a team of quality players that are a real threat is priceless.

warner played so amazing
great game guys btw!
Anyone who says warner wasn’t fantastic is crazy. I’ve read it places actually if you were wondering what the hell I’m talking about. Won’t name names, but anyway. Warner made ALL the throws really on Sunday. Dinked and dunked; I remember one beautiful softly thrown ball to the flat with just the right trajectory. he threw the slant well; picked apart Pitt’s zones. Did a good job with his eyes keeping Polamalu off the radar of where the ball was really going.
Special performance by him outside of that one play on the goal line.

Not even a mention of Breaston on the COTW???
Who would win in a fight, Whisenhunt or a Hurricane?
Hold on, hold on, what if the Hurricanes name was Whisenhunt?
Daaaaaaaaaa Cards, Da Cards Da Cards Da Cards Da Cards!!!

Please take $9 million/year and come back...
…and get Brenda pregnant again so she is even more preoccupied and will stop harping on you! ::wink::

Warner all the way
That was Dockett’s best level of play, ever. But Warner was surgically dissecting the best defense in the NFL and taking the Cardinals one pass at a time towards a win.
Breaston get’s my third vote. Amazing play from our #3. He’s a #1/2 anywhere else.

I voted for Kurt,
but I predicted early on that Dockett and Breaston would have big days. (And they did, especially Breaston early, when the Steelers were blanketing Fitz)
