Around SBN: Tottenham's Plans for Northumberland Stadium Approved

This is actually a few days old, but while I was at arrowheadpride, it caught my attention. According to Brian Waters, while at the Pro Bowl, he heard from several Arizona Cardinal players:

"The Cardinals players told Waters and tight end Tony Gonzalez that Haley, Arizona’s offensive coordinator, was aloof, condescending and ignored by veterans, the source said."

If we think about who was there, it was Warner, Fitz, Q, Wilson, and Morey. The obvious canidate would be Boldin but it says there was more then one. Is this really how Haley was with the players? If that's the case, I don't feel so bad about Whiz taking over O Coordinator duties.

Let's break this down...

Warner – it wasn’t him. He is too WWJD to talk about it in that manner. I think he may have pen’d an e-mail but thats about it.

Morey – I know the guy. He didn’t say anything.

Fitz – just got paid and is regarded as a God in AZ. He is too intelligent to say anything derogatory nor had any reason to do so.

Wilson – Potential there. He has had some bitterness despite re-upping. However, why would he have beef with an OC?

Q – Painfully obvious. I have voiced my opinion on him numerous times on here and this wouldn’t exactly be a shocker. I still advocate trading him before the draft with the hopes of a 2009 and a 2010 pick. This draft isn’t deep enough to warrant betting the farm on it, but he has to be moved. Breaston can be a #2 and #3 WRs can be had. Doucet would be an option if he can make it thru training camp uninjured.

When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome again.

Haley is a chip off the old block (of Tuna)

Raised in Parcells’ system, condescending and aloof doesn’t seem too out of hand. I hope Haley offered the hurt player a box of tissues and the toe of his shoe in the sphincter.

Just wanted to chime in on this here.

This was a very one sided report. It is highly suspect to begin with. It is suspected that Waters himself is the one that called and cried to the journalist.

Waters flew up to KC and tried to meet with Haley and Pioli unannounced. This was on Friday, the opening day of Free Agency. The Chiefs organization is now one of “it all stays in house”, no comments have been or probably will be forthcoming from either one of them. Waters in the past has been very receptive to the press in recent years and has always commented to them and is normally very talkative. When recently phoned by a local new station here, all he would say is “I’m not going to talk about it and no comment”.

I seriously doubt that any of the players you mentioned said a word to Waters about Haley.

Boldin makes sense.

He was still pretty publicly bitter about the whole contract thing while at the Pro Bowl, and it could have been a hangover still from the NFC championship. (Anyone see Clinton Portis’ comments while Portis was interviewing him?)

Really?

The blog itself, or the video?

Mr. Irrelevant’s transcript:

Portis: We’ve got the most unhappy guy in Hawaii. We in beautiful Hawaii and this man is unhappy. He turnin’ down money. He not stayin’ in Arizona. He basically comin’ to the Washington Redskins. Whattup, teammate?

Boldin: Whattup, whattup!

It said it was blocked due to "personals and networking"...

Waiting for the day they shut down ROTB at work as well.
