The Arizona Cardinals Have Granted Permission for the Chiefs to Interview Todd Haley
It's official, the Arizona Cardinals are now in full off season mode. The team has granted permission for the Kansas City Chiefs to interview Todd Haley for their head coaching vacancy. It's not yet known when the meeting will take place but we've heard rumors since the NFC title game that he's the front runner. According to the article, the Chiefs are expected to announce their new head coach later this week, so those rumors certainly sound like they've got some truth in them.
Any early guesses on who the new OC would be, if Haley does depart? Is there an in-house candidate?

How can Haley be the frontrunner...
…if he hasn’t been interviewed yet??
That’s always bothered me….
Obvious choice for OC seems to be Russ Grimm, but that’s unlikely to happen.

New OC?
Hey Warner, want to be a player coach?
Mike Martz is available….NOT!
Carthon is my initial guess considering he has experience as OC at Cleveland.

Yeah from what I heard from Haley was that he was surprised that he was likely to be head coach since he had yet to be interviewed. Who knows he could have been playing it off so it didnt seem like a distraction. My guess would be Grimm as well.

doesn't matter. no matter who gets OC, Whiz will probably run it again and transition them into the position a la Haley.

I had thought that too
I don’t think the offensive playbook is going to change. It will be more of a case of a new OC learning what the Cards already have and adding some new wrinkles to keep the rest of the league guessing.

Just stopping by to check in and see what you guys were thinking
about the Chiefs interviewing Haley for the new H/C. It’s been nothing but speculation and rumor over on Arrowhead Pride and is actually a nice change to actually get some conformation about it. I think Pioli will interview him today (Wed).
Oh and btw, can we have Larry Fitzgerald as well? ; )
Some of you please feel free to come over to AP and give us your thoughts about Haley.
