Edgerrin James Pleading with Cardinals to Release him
According to ESPN, Edgerrin James contacted Rod Graves and pleaded for the team to release him. He's worried that he'll enter the market too late and with so many other veteran backs on the market, teams have plenty of options without waiting on him.

this is uncool
Typical Bidwell move. Just release him, he doesn’t want to play for us, and we don’t want him to play for us.

Actually, typical Bidwell move is to see $6 M for '09 and dump him the day after the SB
Which is what Edge was figuring. Holding on to Edge still points squarely at Whisenhunt. Who gives the Cards the best chance to win at RB on the current roster? Edge. Until that changes, he’s under contract and a Cardinal.
We all leave footprints in the sands of time, just watch out for the discarded fish hooks!

I think
he’s earned it.

Don't dump him until after the freakin Draft!
What if we don’t pick up a quality RB in the draft? JJ’s gone and T.Hightower is all by himself. I have even been going over in my head keeping Edge for another season under his current contract. He’s cheap comparably and after we saw the resurgance of the run game in the Playoffs it would be nice to see him and and T.H. sharing carries.
Who would win in a fight, Whisenhunt or a Hurricane?
Hold on, hold on, what if the Hurricanes name was Whisenhunt?
Daaaaaaaaaa Cards, Da Cards Da Cards Da Cards Da Cards!!!

The question is, do the Cards really WANT a disgruntled Edge as their starting RB?

Not to beat a dead horse, but...
this does not surprise me in the least. This is exactly what has frustrasted me for all of these years; the Bidwills are still unable to see the forest for the trees. Not only has the Warner saga been an embarrassment, but Edge has wanted out since before the playoffs began. You’re telling me, they couldn’t have done something by now?
And don ’t even get me started on Anqwan Boldin…

I agree, it is frustrating
They need to release Edge if only because they said they would. It’s thing like this that make me understand a small portion of why Boldin has said/done the things he’s done. Not all of course. I know it’s business, but at the same time, these are people who are expected to live up to their side of the deal, why do the Bidwills think that they don’t have to do the same?
I come from the age old saying “If you say you’re going to do something, do it.”
And the Warner thing, really, let’s sign this deal and get on with Free Agency.

Team first
He should have been a better team player,he lost his job, because he wasnt running hard. Then he tried to divide the team with his sulking.I cant believe that he is still trying to be divisive,he should try and act like a professional. As far as I am concerned,he hasnt earned anything,he is self-centered player and the Cards have every right to make him wait until they decide what to do with him.He made alot of money here and didnt play up to his abilities,he dogged it and should be ashamed of himself.I hope the Cardinals wait until the start of camp before they cut his ass.Thats what he deserves.Good riddens to Ignorant James!
