They're smoking the pipe and drinking the Kool-Aid!!!
Unreal Boldin and Fitz are 5% behind Welker and Moss.
Who would win in a fight, Whisenhunt or a Hurricane?
Hold on, hold on, what if the Hurricanes name was Whisenhunt?

It is the BOSTON Globe afterall
They could run a poll on the Patriot’s ethical standards and the results would show the team somewhere between Kurt Warner and Jesus.

Did you read tholse comments...
They are trippin. But really Welker for Boldin strait up? What do you guys think?

maybe I'm too biased
but I think Welker is closer to Breaston. He seems like that under the middle, shifty type receiver who’s too quick to catch. Boldin is just a fullback with the ball. I guess I’m saying no way on the trade.

Yeah i was just going to ask
Surprisingly, a lot of them supported Q and Fitz. Some are confusing though. Can you honestly compare Q to Welker?

Boldin for Welker? Where do I sign?
Welker plays Special Teams. Welker is a human pinball. Welker takes a licking and keeps on tickin’. Welker is an outstanding member of the community. Welker makes his teammates better. And as my wife will point out, “he has dreamy eyes”. :P
Boldin is an incredible WR and I love it when he’s suited up and playing the game. It’s the other 99% of the year he drives me nuts anymore. He’s a bruiser but he rarely keeps tickin’ after the lickins anymore. Breaston is a speedster, Welker is the Energizer Bunnie.
I married a Massachusetts gal so I have to root for her teams if I know what’s best for me; every Xmas I ask for Cards gear but get something Patriots-related so the one and only Patriots jersey I own is a Wes Welker jersey.

+1, I like Welker
I think L.Long will be a Welker type WR if he ever gets a shot.

I keep hoping the same for Long too.
No WR drafted this year, I like his chances to be in the mix for the final WR spot. I hope his ST ability makes a difference this preseason.

Where was he in Miami? Look what Boldin has had to work with? Product of the system IMO.

From his Pats bio
In 2006, Welker was the Dolphins’ leading receiver with 67 catches for 687 yards and a touchdown. Welker led Miami in both punt returns and kickoff returns for three consecutive seasons from 2004-06. Welker is Miami’s all-time leading kickoff returner in terms of both yardage and total returns. Welker is tied for the Dolphins’ franchise record with 127 punt returns and ranks second in club history in punt return yardage.
Not bad. Also, in a game against the Patriots at Gillette Stadium in 2004, a pregame injury to Olindo Mare pressed Welker into service as Miami’s kicker. He converted both of his kicking opportunities to become the first NFL player in the Super Bowl Era to record a punt return, a kickoff return, a field goal, an extra point and a kickoff in the same game.
I am not necessarily advocating Welker over Q, but Welker was solid for the Fins and that’s why a he warranted a 2nd Round pick for a trade.

Awesome info
That’s quite an accomplishment.

Honestly, other then kick/punt return stats, 2006 was just average(1 Touchdown?)
Other then injury years(which were still better), when has Boldin had a year like that? Boldin still performed like a Pro Bowler with Jeff Blake, Preston Parsons, John Navarre, Josh McCown, Kurt Warner(before he returned to MVP form), and Matt Leinart(rookie year) throwing to him. Aside from the last 2 years, Boldin has never had an elite QB.
If you watch a Pats game, Welker usually goes down before he takes a hit, which is the opposite of Q. I would prefer a player that actually plays the game of football. Not taking anything away of Welker, because he IS good, but comparing him to Q seems odd.

Like I said, I am not advocating Welker is better than Q.
All I was saying was he was a solid contributor for the Fins.

Don't forget Welker once killed a group of Islamic terrorist...
with his bare hands at half time thwarting an eventual suicide bombing at Gillette Stadium. He then went out second half and actually threw himself two touchdown passes for a come from behind 4th quarter victory against the Ravens.

I was at that game
The summer following that season he and I spent the summer sheepherding in the high grasslands of Wyoming. Any time I feel a gentle breeze against my bear ass cheecks I always think of Welker and our summer together on Broke Back Mountain.

Some how, ASS kicking "John McClain" Welker is a way more appealing...
than “Brokedick Mountain Welker”…. Hmmm… Weird…

::snicker::
So I guess Fitz’s diving before contact drove you nuts too, Andrew? Better take his first two Pro Bowls away when that was his practice.

Maybe that was his style before '08
But all I saw from Fitz was drawing contact this past year and in the playoffs.
