Boldin for Brandon Marshall - Any takers?
Im not saying this is the greatest deal for the cardinals, but a trade like this won't hurt. Both are proven recievers and both want out of town. Whats your take? Is this is a good deal? I am a big Anquan Boldin fan and all, but I dont see him being a positive influence on the team going into training camp. With a distraction like Boldin, there is no way the Cards make it back to the playoffs. I'm thinking that a trade like this would make both players happy at least for this season. Most of all, Warner would still have a great target to pass to. Just a thought.

why would we trade one disgruntled WR for another
Both wide outs want new contracts so I’m not sure that trading one headache for another makes sense. Especially considering our headache (Boldin) doesn’t have a well established track record of beating up his girlfriends.

Ixnay on the Marshall, Toots.
Cardinals have done well to avoid individuals with recent arrest records and have served NFL suspensions because of it.

No deal
Boldin is a little more talented than Marshall and less troublesome. Boldins missed games because of injuries balance out Marshalls missed games because of suspensions. Therefore I would keep Boldin.

Probably would hurt
On the field, I see a lot of similarities in their styles but off the field is where they are light years apart. I disagree with your assertion that Boldin will be a distraction that will cause us to miss the playoffs. He wasn’t a distraction (to the team) last year and with Wilson getting signed he’s closer to a new contract than he was last year at this time.
Marshall, on the other hand, could end up being the kind of distraction that would send a team into a tailspin. A midseason arrest and a prolonged decision about his future from Goddell would likely prove to be a major problem.
No deal.

everyone blows boldin's unhappiness out of proportion
He wasn’t a distraction last year at all.
The media only has as much power as we (the fans) give it.
They can show Boldin arguing with Todd Haley 10 million times and it will not erase the fact that he came back from an injury that would have ended many players careers in 3-4 weeks and helped this team have it’s best year in team history.
Does he want to get paid? Of course he does, he is the most physical wide reciever in the game. His style of play doesn’t usually equal a long life in the NFL, but he will play his ass off once the season begins and probably make it to another probowl.
Next offseason would be when I expect the Cards to either trade him or resign him. But He will continue to be a beast on the field regardless how much he is paid.

Boldin not a distraction
The only problem Boldin is causing is that reporters keep asking the other players about him. Every answer is that they all love him. When training camp starts, he’ll be there (or be fined huge $$$—I think 16K per day) He still has 2 years left at a very reasonable cap #. When he’s playing—He puts out max effort and great #‘s. He’s been my favorite Card for years and just because he’s asked for a raise doesn’t change that. I wish my boss would give me a raise too. Unfortunately, I don’t have VOLUNTARY practices that I can skip in protest.

ABSOLUTELY NOT
Boldin is a better and harder playing receiver than Marshall, he doesnt get in trouble off the field and he is deffinetely not a distraction that would prevent the Cards from making the playoffs this year. Boldin was bitching about his contract last off season too and what happened? he said it wouldnt be a distraction, that once the season started he wouldnt talk about it anymore and he stayed true to that and played with everything he had in every game (including two weeks after having his face broken). Boldin wants a new contract and understandibly so, he is getting payed next to nothing compared to other recievers that arent even as good as him, but more than that he is a football player and a competitor. he will always be an asset
