Around SBN: SB Nation NFL Power Rankings for Week 11

As if things weren't already mixed up in Matt Leinart's world, he's decided to take on the sport known as MMA. Jay Glazer is training him and believes Matt can handle it. Hopefully this improves the football side of things for Leinart as well. As a side note, this in no way means Matt will be switching over to the UFC to fight Anderson Silva, apparently Matt just thinks he needs to become mentally tougher.

Perfect

This is really going to benefit him I think and it shows he finally got some balls too.

Never do card tricks for the group you play poker with.

not sure what it really does to help him on the field other than being in shape

but at least the photos we’re seeing of him this off season aren’t in a hot tub. Good job Matt, you’re taking steps towards being a professional.

you're right

I’d prefer seeing him tied up with sweaty men in a ring than with some babes in a hot tub. Never thought i’d say that about anybody x_x

I like this

I think it shows he is willing to work hard to get where he wants to be as a player and I do think that sports like wrestling, boxing, and MMA are good at building mental toughness.

Should be able to deliver an effective stiff-arm to avoid a sack now.

We all leave footprints in the sands of time, just watch out for the discarded fish hooks!

Cheap Publicity Stunt

This was nothing more than a cheap publicity stunt…. Leinart trying to keep his name in the news and maintain some semblance of relevance to the NFL.

Why not work out with John Lott, one of the best (if not the best) strength and conditioning coaches in the NFL?… who also happens to be the coach who runs the weightlifting portion of the combine.

Oh yeah…. John Lott isn’t a reporter for Fox Sports and isn’t going to splash video all over the internet and youtube.

I doubt this went over well with the coaches.
