Alan Branch Update
How's he doing thus far in camp? Is still on the bubble or is he finally getting his act together? Where is listed on the current depth chart? I've read that Whisenhunt is losing patience with him and he's danger of being cut.
Is this true? If they were to trade him, what would you gage his trade value to be? So much physical ability. It's shame he hasn't had a breakout season yet. Wondering if the 3-4 is better suited for him.

Welcome to ROTB
I’d start by saying that the Cards are running a 3-4 this year (or at least something very close to it), but so far we really haven’t heard much, good or bad, from Branch this year. One could consider that an improvement over past years though, but his ultimate fate will be decided in the preseason. At least his weight is down and he’ll be facing guys that he should dominate (2nd and 3rd stringers) so hopefully he can make some decent plays. He’d have to be pretty bad though to miss the cut considering that Rodney Leslie hasn’t showed much either.

Thanks for the welcome!
Thanks for the update. My guess is that they’ll keep him due to possible salary cap ramifications. Correct me if I’m wrong.
I’ve watched Branch’s highlight videos from college. Not sure why his quick feet and power hasn’t translated to the pros. WIsh he was one of those non-stop motor types.
if he had a non-stop motor he'd have been a top 15 pick
and might even have a pro bowl under his belt already. He can flat out dominate when he wants to and if he can even gain some consistency, he just might have some staying power. That being said, this has been his best camp so far so he’ll certainly be a guy I watch very closely during the preseason.
