Vick Gets Two Year Deal From the Eagles
I know this isn't Cardinals-related but it's probably a big enough story that some will want to discus. The details, he got a one year deal with a team option for the second and at least for now the Eagles are saying that he'll be a QB. He'll get $1.6 million in year one but the second year option will be worth more than $5 million (that's far more than I thought he'd get). It's an interesting move considering that McNabb has always been a sensitive player and they've got a young QB that they drafted relatively high (although he did sprain some knee ligaments recently).
One more juicy story line, Vick's first game once he's reinstated might be against his former club when the Eagles travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons in week six. Talk about Drama.

I don't get this deal
for either Vick of the Eagles. I wonder how Reid plans to use him? It should be interesting to watch.

I’m sure they’ll incorporate him somehow, something to the affect of the wildcat.
Hey, hey, hey hey hey, watch the language, ok? I have a family.
Revenge of the Birds
His deal also ends at the same time as McNabb's.
Now in my mind of conspiracy theories…
McNabb will be cut in a salary cap move next year. Vick will be the transition QB until Kobb is ready to take over the following year. But that is my opinion.

I like the conspiracy theory...
I wonder if they’ll do some plays similar to the Arrington to Warner pass last year to confuse defenses since they can use Vick as a RB/QB option.
I don’t know if that would count exactly as a Wildcat, or maybe a modified Wildcat, but it could be pretty interesting to watch.
I’m not a Vick fan, but seeing how he’s used will be interesting.
Section 102, Row 18
i admit
that’s a pretty slick theory but why would they have given mcnabb a pay rise this summer if they were that easy about cutting him?
well..
When they gave McNabb the raise they didnt realize Vick would be such an affordable/easy grab
1yr deal 1.5 mill w/ an option for another year isnt squat for a #2… actually this thoery makes some sense
Eagles stand to save alot money in the near future… they have a pro-bowl caliber QB at the fraction of the cost… they just have manage the PR backlash
Loyalty is the only Commodity
I can't believe there are 3 votes for "Man I wish we signed him."
The guy was a crappy QB but a solid athlete. Now he is not in game-shape and is 2 years older.
And sorry, Jwit, Vick is far from Pro Bowl-caliber.
When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome again. True story.

+1
Not a great QB by any means yet a fantastic athlete. I think you could argue that Boldin would be almost as good a QB as Vick from some of the throws I have seen him make in games and practice (did I go too far on that one, haha)
Never do card tricks for the group you play poker with.
He was a QB early in his career at FSUcks.
