My 1st game of madden 10

So I went out and got madden last night and played a quick game before bed.

Star-divide

I chose to play as the Cardinals at home vs the Seahawks

Offensive stats:

Kurt Warner 19/26 245 yards 1 TD 0 int

Beanie Wells 20 attempts for 98 yards (4.9 avg) 1 TD, 9 catches for 118 yards

Tim Hightower had 2 catches for 15 yards and 1 TD

Steve Breaston 4 catches for 68 yards

Seattle did all they could to take away Q and Fitz who both recorded only 2 catches. This allowed for a big game by Chris Wells. Seattle's Linebacking corps was very impressive making numerous plays near or behind the line of scrimmage. Tatupu put some mean hits on Beanie and forced one fumble which was returned for the only Seahawks TD of the game.

Defense:

The Defense played very well, consistently shutting down the run and limiting the Seahawks passing game to short completions. Calais Campbell and Bryan Robinson both had 1 sack, while Chike Okeafor intercepted Matt Hasselback in the final minute of the game to seal the win. Dockett didn't register a sack however he was  constantly putting pressure on Matt H. causing a number of rushed throws and incompletions. DRC shutdown T.J. Housh all game.

Final Score: Cardinals 23       Seahawks 10

MVP: Chris "Beanie" Wells

Madden 10 looks very good and plays even better. The final product is MUCH better than the demo.  It is a big improvement over madden 09 in almost every way. My biggest criticism has got to be the button mashing minigame that occurs when someone fumbles the ball, it just didn't do it for me.

Final note: Utilizing Beanie Wells was a blast. If he is anything like his pixelated doppelganger we are in for quite a show this year. He could run through, juke around, or simply out run most defenders. This game is worth a rental just to try his stiff arm!!!!

The demo was fun, but I’m looking forward to seeing what the final product looks like.

Does anyone know if PS3 people can play against XBOX 360 people?

Beanie is better than the 78 he was rated in the game. The Cardinals work pretty well but it is easier for me to pass to Breaston than Fitz or Boldin sometimes.

yes and yes

they have improved, however I suggest some depth chart adjustments. The starting MLBs are Gerald Hayes and Pago Togafau. Replace Togafau with Clark Haggans for an instant upgrade in the middle (Dansby is the starting LOLB.) then replace the 4th string cornerback with Rashad Johnson. That way he gets a chance to be on the field in most dime packages ( he is already the 2nd string FS)

They do play in a 3-4 base with Dockett as the Nose Tackle, Berry as the RE and C.C. as the LE.

I think the roster update they put out today fixed that.

Haggans was the starter when I played today. And the defense is pretty good in this game. I can usually stop the run pretty well, but if I blitz too much the other team throws a lot of touchdowns.

I'm stuck with the ORIGINAL PS2.

The big slow one. And he is rated as a 73 on my game. WOW.

Life's too short. Be a fan. Magic, Cards,Rays and "the U"! What a winning combo.

Colts at Cardinals

Wow, Peyton Manning and the Colts receivers are incredible in this game. I was down 21-3 at one point and had to rally to win 31-38. I normally am solid at stopping the pass and get plenty of picks switching over to corner while the ball is in the air but man it was TOUGH to beat the Colts. There defense picked me off 4 times as well. After 2 picks by Warner i got ticked and put in Leinart (like it was really Warners fault right?) and then through 2 more with Leinart although I did have better success with Leinart than Warner.

Never do card tricks for the group you play poker with.

In my Cardinals Franchise Warner got hurt during the 2nd quarter of the Colts game

He will miss 7 weeks. Leinart came into the game to throw 3 TDs and 0 ints. At first I was worried, but as long as you read the defense well #7 can win with the super talented receivers on our roster.

Roster update

I have been very busy lately and haven’t been able to play madden for weeks. I was able to get a game in yesterday and have noticed that they have made a few changes with the new roster update. Beanie Wells has been lowered from 79 to 78, and the depth chart has been updated.
