I met Darnell Dockett today
Well, maybe 'met' is an overstatement;
A project at work required me to do some fieldwork in a Toys'R'Us today (spending all day watching a specific aisle and recording shopper activity in and around, talking to people who buy certain things).
After an incredibly slow start, I'm half falling asleep, when I look up and see someone who looks remarkably like Darnell Dockett on the other side of the store. I keep an eye on him, and I'm pretty sure it IS Dockett, and not only that he's entering 'my' aisle. It is completely confirmed when some old guy (who I thought was with him at first the way he was following him) walked up and asked if there were any new injuries, and Dockett said "No, we're all fine" or something like that. Then he picked out the specific toy that I was watching for his kid (who was with him). I have been doing my job for a while, and can walk up to anyone cold without hesitation (ie beautiful women I couldn't talk to in a bar, whatever), but I was actually nervous; big adrenaline rush. Anyway, I walked up to him, made my simple pitch (something like; Can I take less than a minute of your time to ask you 2 or 3 questions about [toyname]), and he shot me down cold, said he had to get his son somewhere (and he did seem to be in a bit of a hurry before I approached). I shot a "good game yesterday" at him and he said "Thanks, I appreciate that", and that was the end of my brush with a Pro-Bowler.

That's cool!
Hey, you did your best and you handled yourself perfectly. DD had to get back to Twittering! He can’t stay away for too long!

that sure wasn't stopping him from signing hats and footballs during the game
Him and A-dub seemed like they were signing something everytime the camera was on them, except for the short period of time when DD grabbed the camera and started filming the game.

would you say it was more of a Ben Roethlisberger encounter or a Rick Patino?

Met Dockett and Dansby at a car show in Phoenix once
Dockett was just walking around in the crowd, this was probably his second year in the league so not many knew him, but me being a Cardinal freak knew it was him. Cool guy. Dansby was at a jewelry stand. He wasn’t repping the Cardinals at all, just advertising his jewelry, not sure if they sponsor him or what, it was kind of weird. Expensive stuff by the way. I knew it was him but I asked his name and he said Karlos. So it would obvious.
Hey, hey, hey hey hey, watch the language, ok? I have a family.
