Arizona Cardinals News: Early Doucet Breaks Ribs, Expected to Miss "At Least" a Couple Weeks
The Arizona Cardinals continue to get bad news on the injury front as we learned today that Early Doucet fractured some ribs high up on his rib cage and is expected to miss at least a couple weeks. The placement of the injury, high on the rib cage, is important because another significant blow to that area before the break is fully healed could result in a punctured lung. This is also another set back for Doucet who's struggling to gain any ground on a roster that's stacked with talent at wide reciever. To his credit though, Whisenhunt did say that Doucet sustained the injury during the second quarter and was able to finish the game.
As long as Doucet's return is somewhere close to two weeks, this injury shouldn't effect the roster decisions that'll be made this Saturday but for a guy like Lance Long, it can't hurt.

Damn...
Thats some impressive stamina, but maybe that explains why he dropped the 2 point conversion pass he should have caught.
And I hope Long makes the roster, so in a sick way this could help him.
Damn...can't this guy get a break
When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome again. True story.

Didn't want to go for the obvious pun

Red Bird fan?
Never thought it would happen but my wife is all the way and they have begun to win me over? To show you how I pick them .. I was an Oiler fan in Houston and a Saints fan in La. … but I have a winner in L.S. and U … GEAUX Tigers and Red Birds!!!
2 LSU x players are having a hard time with the teams that selected them J Marcus Russell (Oakland was a disaster area BEFORE he got there … and a Qback needs a good offensive line .. and a good coach..) & Doucet needs playing time …
Last Season Was an Anomoly...
WIth the unusual exception of last season, you can pretty much take to the bank the axiom – that "a position you seem to be really, really deep at will be decimated by injuries.
It happened a few years back to the (KVB/Wakefield) defensive line. It’s happening again now to our wide receivers.
This is why you don’t prematurely fall for the temptation to “trade Boldin” or ship a couple of receivers over to KC.
Suddenly guys like Lance Long or Onrea Jones (who seemed unfairly destined for the PS or waiver wire) have a new lease on life.
You just never know.
