Leinart "failed to make the grade"?
Does anyone else feel like all of the people who write articles about Leinart saying that he is a bad QB or that he missed his chance don't know what they are talking about?
I agree with what they said about Young and Smith, but Leinart did have a good Rookie year, then he had to deal with learning a new system under a new coach, had a rough Preseason game, then broke his collarbone on a sack against the Rams that knocked him out for the rest of the season.
And, he is behind Kurt freaking Warner, one of the best Quarterbacks to play the game.
I think that there are so many people out there like HardHat who fail to give Leinart the respect that he has earned, even after a game as incredible as the one he had against Green Bay. Does anyone else agree?

Sometimes it hard to change someone's perception of someone else.
When Leinart came out of college expectations were high. People expected him to be quite possibly the best QB in the league, since he was arguably the best QB in college history.
Problem is since he has been drafted he has failed to live up to the expectation and has given fans of football the impression he is immature and doesn’t have what it takes to play the position. Even though he has changed that perception for a lot of Cardinals fans, there are still those people that don’t see him in practice or how he plays in games and they assume he is the same guy we drafted just 4 years ago.
Even though I love Warner and the day he retires or leaves the team will be a sad day, I can’t wait for Leinart to get a shot in a regular season game to shove all this crap that has been talked about him in the past few years down their throats. I hope he shows he is the QB we thought we were drafting 4 years ago with that number 10 pick. Sounds like that’s what he wants to do listening to Whiz and his teammates talk about him as if he is using all these negative stories as a motivator.

agree but
the stigma wont change nationally until he proves it as a starter.

Leinart
Looks much better but i formally begging him to stop throwing touch passes over the middle before one of our stars gets killed.

Those short crossing routes are a major component of this offense
Warner throws more than his share of them as well.

Leinart does tend to leave his wideouts open for crushing blows way too often. I think Leinart looks better, but still looks like a backup QB. I don’t see him turning into an awesome QB but he may make an o.k. game manager one day.
