Let's Go Cardinals!

I’m so pumped up!

My dream is buried in the second page of a forum...

Oh well, I'll soon get over it... And try to fulfill it by myself...

by Giannaros on Sep 13, 2009 1:18 PM MDT reply actions

Wild finish in Cincinnati...poor Bungles.

We all leave footprints in the sands of time, just watch out for the discarded fish hooks!

KC is showing some major fight...who knew?

We all leave footprints in the sands of time, just watch out for the discarded fish hooks!

by Hawkwind on Sep 13, 2009 2:07 PM MDT reply actions

Defense looking real good so far.

Dansby and Hayes stopping the run and B-Mac showing why we signed him by deflecting a perfect pass that would of been a td.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 2:37 PM MDT reply actions

Good D from McFadden...

If that had been Rod Hood, SF would have 7 right now…

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 2:38 PM MDT reply actions

Patrick Willis...

is a monster!

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 2:43 PM MDT reply actions

Does it really take this long...

To count to 11?

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 2:51 PM MDT reply actions

I see we got the A-Team...

of referees today!!!

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 2:51 PM MDT reply actions

Yep...

Never heard a ref screw up a single call three time before…

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 2:56 PM MDT up reply actions

Hadn't heard that...

Guess I’ll give the guy break…until he screws us over…

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 2:58 PM MDT up reply actions

It must be the water in AZ

Doesnt seem to matter which receiver you plug into this offense

by Irishcardinal on Sep 13, 2009 3:03 PM MDT up reply actions

No Beanie yet...

Very curious. Right about now would be a good time to get him in there…

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 3:03 PM MDT reply actions

And there he is...

And a busted play. CRAP!!!

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 3:03 PM MDT up reply actions

Uh Oh...

Looks like we have concussion-addled Warner so far. Hope this doesn’t continue, or else Leinart gets to live out his “Entourage” fantasy…

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

+1

The offense played the same way in the opener last year.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 3:12 PM MDT up reply actions

Hope so...

Warner’s slumps tend to last for a while over his career…

Hey guys, for my first post on your blog

I would like to say thank you for the best Super Bowl I can ever remember watching.

Second, beat them Niners!! They are my Mother-in-law’s team.

Thank you drive through...

by Steel Spike on Sep 13, 2009 3:15 PM MDT reply actions

Thanks

God I love football! I’ll literally watch ANY team play, and if I got the Cards/Niners game here, I would be watching that instead of the stupid Seachickens…

Thank you drive through...

by Steel Spike on Sep 13, 2009 3:19 PM MDT up reply actions

How are they looking? (the Seachickens)

NFL.com is showing them looking like crap but stats can be deceiving.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 3:20 PM MDT up reply actions

Thier D looks phenominal.

Offense…well, first game of the regular season, you can’t expect a non-playoff team to be very good right out the gate…

Thank you drive through...

by Steel Spike on Sep 13, 2009 3:21 PM MDT up reply actions

Thanks

Their a team I that if they can get their offense going they could be trouble.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 3:24 PM MDT up reply actions

End around to Ike Bruce...

Who has no hamstrings left…

Good call Niners…

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

Calais is looking strong.

We all leave footprints in the sands of time, just watch out for the discarded fish hooks!

by Hawkwind on Sep 13, 2009 3:19 PM MDT reply actions

I am predicting right now...

That Leinart will be starting by Week 5. Either through performance, injury, or whatever…

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 3:21 PM MDT reply actions

Lets hope this doesn't happen.

Don’t get me wrong I think Leinart can still be a good QB but he is no Warner.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 3:22 PM MDT up reply actions

I totally agree...

But Warner’s age and history are against us here. If we get NYGiants Warner this year, we are screwed…

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 3:25 PM MDT up reply actions

Wow

We are just owning the run game right now. Docket just burst through the line to make a stop 3 yards behind the line.

49ers are now at -12 yards on 8 carries.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 3:27 PM MDT reply actions

D looks good so far...

Stopping the run. Defending the pass well…

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 3:37 PM MDT reply actions

And the D falls apart...

The moment I say anything…

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 3:38 PM MDT up reply actions

Can I amend my statement?

Leinart may start Week 2 based on what we’ve seen so far…

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 3:42 PM MDT reply actions

PS -

Levi Brown is toilet…

Didn’t even make the DE work for that forced turnover…

I shudder to think what would happen to Leinart when Brown is defending his blind side…

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 3:45 PM MDT reply actions

Welcome to ROTB.

Could be just rust. Last year he had troubles in the opener but came out in the 2nd half very strong. Lets hope that is the case here ::Knocks on Wood::

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 3:50 PM MDT up reply actions

haah sorry hopefully they'll improve in the second half

i’m a little surprised that fitz still has zero receptions

COOL BEANS!

by lexmarklover on Sep 13, 2009 3:52 PM MDT up reply actions

No Problem.

I saw that he was open a few times in the first quarter but Warner failed to get to him. The Niners are also doing a good job of covering him. This happened in the Super Bowl and we all know how that turned out for Fitz in the 2nd half.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 3:53 PM MDT up reply actions

Great games...

From Dockett and Campbell so far. Hightower has been good as well…

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 3:48 PM MDT reply actions

Uh Oh....

Warner hurt his throwing hand. Don’t know if it is serious but you can tell he is in pain.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 3:55 PM MDT reply actions

Follow up.

Can’t be too bad if he is out there still playing with it.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 3:57 PM MDT up reply actions

Feel like the Cards outplayed them...

Should see a good result in the 2nd half…

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 3:59 PM MDT reply actions

13-6

Not a killing deficit.

by tw3kr on Sep 13, 2009 4:02 PM MDT up reply actions

Half-Time Recap

The Good
Hightower has looked good in the passing game having 7 receptions for 67 yards.
The run defense: Allowed 3 yards and 1 TD on 12 carries.
The Pass defense: Been good with the exception of one play that went for 50 yards. Redeeeming themselves with 3 sacks and 1 fumble recovery.

The Bad
Kurt Warner: is just 11/20 for 128 yards with 2 INTs
The Rushing: 8 carries for 12 yards.

The Ugly
Levi Brown: Allowing way to many guys to get past him. He is really looking like crap.
Penalties on defense, offense and special teams: 8 penalties for 58 yards. Not gonna win with tons of penalties.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 4:03 PM MDT reply actions

Add OL as a whole to The Ugly. They are just allowing way to many guys to hit Warner.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 4:04 PM MDT up reply actions

+1

Those mid depth passing routes that this offense works on simply cant develop in time

by Irishcardinal on Sep 13, 2009 4:06 PM MDT up reply actions

Good info

Thanks, some stuff I couldn’t figure from NFL game center.

Offense seems like it’s all Hightower. And one shot to Urban…

by tw3kr on Sep 13, 2009 4:07 PM MDT up reply actions

Nice return by Rolle.

Bouncing around and breaking tackles.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 4:17 PM MDT reply actions

Hightower's YPC closer and closer to 2

Is the passing game so bad they are selling out against the run??

by tw3kr on Sep 13, 2009 4:20 PM MDT reply actions

O-Line isn't giving any help.

Not blocking for the passing game or the running game. Making it real hard for either parts of the offense to get it going.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 4:21 PM MDT up reply actions

Gotcha

Kreider or Becht doing anything?

I saw Kreider had a catch for 3 a minute ago.

by tw3kr on Sep 13, 2009 4:24 PM MDT up reply actions

That was more of just a checkdown.

I haven’t noticed a whole lot of Becht but Kreider isn’t blocking a whole lot. Can’t blame him when he has a beast coming at him in P. Willis.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 4:25 PM MDT up reply actions

Better him taking it than Hightower, Wells

Considering that’s the entire reason he’s with the team =/

by tw3kr on Sep 13, 2009 4:27 PM MDT up reply actions

Hate to pile on but...

Warner has been awful today. Missing his spots over and over.

by jallred350 on Sep 13, 2009 4:24 PM MDT reply actions

This is his history...

One good year….

Then total crap….

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 4:26 PM MDT up reply actions

I’m not ready to go that far yet, but this game has been very frustrating so far.

by jallred350 on Sep 13, 2009 4:28 PM MDT up reply actions

Oh, we'll win today...

But Warner is seriously damaged goods, and we can’t be caught out expecting him to be there for us all year.

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 4:34 PM MDT up reply actions

Levi Brown finally doing something on that play. He was the one pushing Beanie in that gang tackle.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 4:31 PM MDT up reply actions

No doubt. Definitely better run blocking.

by jallred350 on Sep 13, 2009 4:32 PM MDT up reply actions

Perfect...

Beanie starts…

Hightower is a perfect 3rd down back…

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 4:30 PM MDT reply actions

Im Beanie's biggest fan

But I think Tim is the guy for the moment. He’s made a play every opportunity he’s had.

by Irishcardinal on Sep 13, 2009 4:35 PM MDT up reply actions

FITZ!!!

Tie game (assuming PAT is good)

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 4:35 PM MDT reply actions

Side Note

Beanie had some nice blocks on this play.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 4:36 PM MDT up reply actions

Cards are wearing them down...

We’re gonna win this one!!!!

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

by mutleyil on Sep 13, 2009 4:41 PM MDT reply actions

Doing what we did in last years opener.

Offense not playing well in first half but coming back in the 2nd half looking real good.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 4:44 PM MDT up reply actions

4 sacks from the D

CC looking real good, getting a lot of pressure on Hill.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 4:42 PM MDT reply actions

Calais is really proving himself...

"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"

Help me out here

I’m stuck in the library and can’t watch the game. Is Breaston playing and not getting targeted or whats the deal?

Can’t blame Francisco for that…

Geez, so much for making a statement today

Can anyone tell which team is th reigning conference champ?

Be careful....to a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

by Bezekira on Sep 13, 2009 5:17 PM MDT via mobile reply actions

Big play coming up.

We don’t convert on this 4th down, it’s probably over.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 5:27 PM MDT reply actions

There was 1 sec left

Was a good game. There’s always next time ;) I’d hope for a better O-line however, as the Niners were terrible when it came to pass rushing most of last season and this preseason.

by 9erguy on Sep 13, 2009 5:43 PM MDT up reply actions

Sloppy but good

Props to Shaun Hill. Really nice comeback drive (I didn’t get to see most of it live, but the stat sheet looked good).

by tw3kr on Sep 13, 2009 5:47 PM MDT up reply actions

Game Over

Protection can’t hold up for Warner to chuck it down field.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 5:37 PM MDT reply actions

Its going to be a long, long season

I can feel it, based on todays display. No fight from the offense whatsoever. Really missed a healthy Boldin and Breaston.

And of course, and O line that could block.

by Irishcardinal on Sep 13, 2009 5:41 PM MDT reply actions

That's what killed us was the O line.

I think if they are better we win this one. Think that was one of the worse performances I have seen out of them since Whiz took over.

by Pyromnc on Sep 13, 2009 5:49 PM MDT up reply actions

The line was bad, but there were a lot of plays where Warner had time to set his feet and missed badly.

by jallred350 on Sep 13, 2009 8:14 PM MDT up reply actions

Same old Cardinals!

I felt the offense was a little to cavalier during the preseason. Frankly they stunk! This wasn’t a team effort. The offense didn’t show up. Only the defense. Congratulations to the defense. They carried the team… just couldn’t do it all by themselves.

by ehsiii on Sep 13, 2009 5:44 PM MDT reply actions

Yeah, the D is on it

I’m not sure how to deal with an underachieving offense. The team seems to have flipped.

by tw3kr on Sep 13, 2009 5:50 PM MDT up reply actions

At least it was a close game...

Cards did a good job coming back in the second half, Defense looks really good, Warner looked a lot better in the second half, and it looks like Beantower is going to have a good year.

by JoeCB1991 on Sep 13, 2009 5:49 PM MDT reply actions

Forgot to mention the Penalties

If it wasn’t for that they would have had a touchdown after the Punt Return that got them inside 49er territory. Whiz needs to fix that up.

by JoeCB1991 on Sep 13, 2009 5:56 PM MDT up reply actions

Now can we get a new tackle?

Wells is decent on pass pro and Brown is obviously a better run blocker. Why don’t they just switch? The experiment is over. He failed at tackle. And the way he is blocking, Kurt will be out sooner than I would like. And Matty would be in real trouble on his blind side.

Life's too short. Be a fan. Orlando Magic, Arizona Cardinals,Tampa Bay Rays and of course "the U"! What a winning combo.

by hevchv on Sep 13, 2009 8:00 PM MDT via mobile reply actions

Agreed

Brown looks horrible at tackle and would be much better suited to play guard. If I were Leinart I would be scared to play with Brown the one protecting his blind side at tackle.
