Former Arizona Cardinal Rod Hood signs one year deal with Chicago Bears
It seems the chance of bringing back Rod Hood to shore up the defensive backfield is lost as Hood has recently signed a one year deal with the Chicago Bears. Hoods not a lock to make the final 53 after recently being released from the Cleveland Browns, though Chicago Head Coach Lovie Smith has been searching for more veteran leadership and any way to hold the high flying Green Bay Packer offense from making a mockery of the Bears defense in the September 13th season opener.
Did we miss out on a chance to get Hood back for cheap? Or is there a reason Cleveland let him and go and he's on to his next team? Are there worries about the nickel CB position? Should the Cardinals be looking for CB depth while McFadden heals?

Well, at least one of our starters from last year is employed...
Or is Green still on the roster over in San Fran?? I forget.
I don’t miss Hood too much. I know every game I watched, I was more surprised when he was in position rather than when he was burned painfully for 1st down after 1st down… As a nickel back, he probably would have given us better depth, but I think that between Rolle, Brown, Toler, and Adams, we shouldn’t see any kind of drop-off in play compared to what we could potentially see with Hood thrown in there somewhere.
Might have been an opportunity, but we have a good combination of youth and experience already, and it would probably be hard to fit him into the locker room after being dumped unceremoniously earlier this year.
