Around SBN: Four TCU Football Players Among 17 Arrested In Drug Ring

Do you think any of the Cardinals ratings in Madden 10 should be changed?

I'm just wondering what ratings in the new Madden game seem wrong to everyone else here.

The two that I disagree with the most are Matt Leinart and Neil Rackers ratings. Leinart is a 69, Rackers is an 81.

For Leinart, he has a speed rating lower than Kurt Warner [Leinart is 53, Warner is 55] and I would bump that up to a 60 because he has had some decent speed when he had to run away from a defender, I would also change his awareness from 67 or 68 to something in the mid/low 70s. Since he is just a backup right now, and after how well he has played so far, the changes I would give him would raise his rating to 71 [which is Vince Young's rating even though he is worse than Leinart] or a 72 which is good for a backup.

For Rackers, I don't know how to change kicker ratings, he has one of the top kick power ratings, but an accuracy rating in the mid 80s and I would move that up a few points. I think he is still as good as he was the year he got 40 field goals, and I think that he should have a rating in the high 80s instead.

I also think that the speed ratings for Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald could go up a couple points, and Ben Graham is a better punter than an overall rating of 69 or 68.

Is there anything you guys would fix [besides all of the players the roster is still missing]?

Fitz has always been underrated for speed.

As an example, the past couple iterations have given him a sub-90 speed, while Polamalu has like 93 or something, yet in the Super Bowl, there’s Fitzgerald, clearly outrunning Polamalu…

One thing that really irks me is Wilrey Fontenot. Can someone explain to me why he’s a 60 overall, ahead of Brown and Adams? Why would we have moved Adams up from the practice squad ahead of Fontenot if he was so much worse? Not to mention the fact that Fontenot was on the final roster in ‘09, I think, and is back again in ’10, but where is our 4th-round CB??? Someone at EA has a serious boner over Fontenot’s college play, that’s all I can figure.

Leinart got shafted in this one — he used to look more like what you describe. He might get a few points back if he plays as well against Denver (all signs point to yes) as he did against GB. Rackers, I dunno, they could bump up his Awareness and/or Tackle, Block Shedding, something like that.

Other guys that got a pretty big drop in their OVR would be Breaston and Francisco. If I remember correctly, ’cisco is actually rated lower than Ware, despite being the consistent backup/sometimes starter in the secondary…

I'm not a big fan of Francisco after the Superbowl

But most of the #3 receivers don’t have ratings like what most of the starters have unless its a team without a lot of good receivers like the Bears [although I think their receiver rating will go up a little bit now that Cutler is there].

I do have a feeling that Leinart will go up to something like what I mentioned, his rating did go up a couple points after the first update, but the speed and awareness ratings are still inaccurate.

How about the obvious in Wells and Hightower?

After the preseason I’d say the deserve a little more credit. They’re still pretty good but they can stand to get better. Can’t wait for the next roster update.

Hey, hey, hey hey hey, watch the language, ok? I have a family.

Wells is pretty amazing in the game. The o-line sometimes gets blown up and runs don’t do much of anything, but I can’t tell you how many times Power running plays (woot woot!) have led to him either out-running the defense or, most impressively, breaking out of a couple of tackles and getting a big score. Hell, I just had him miraculously break out of a three-man tackle and score a 22 yard TD earlier today. So awesome.

This isn’t what this thread’s about, but the lack of rookies is pretty disheartening. Where’s Toler? Where’s Will Davis? I can understand not including 7th round pick LHS, I suppose, and I’m sure he’ll get in sooner rather than later. But, Toler and Davis are out, while Fontenot and Canfield (a later pick than Davis) are in? Blah.

But, I do agree on Fitz’s speed. He’s not elite fast, but he’s certainly fast (or is his route running just so elite that he looks so much faster on tape?) Anyways, low 90’s sounds about right for him.

Yea Beanie is freaking awesome in the game. The only problem I have with him, not his fault, is that Spach can’t block worth crap and it seems like as soon as I snap the ball a defender is on top of beanie.

One thing I wish they would update

Is add the LS position, this would make it more realistic.

My underrated Cards player would have to be Sendlein. The guy was much better than people give him credit for last season and has had a pretty decent off season. I think he should be a little bit higher.

I hope they have the right roster in the next update

Although I don’t even know if Sean Morey was in the last game.

Wells is good in the game too.

Forgot to mention

The “classic” helmets are screwed up. The 60’s and 90’s helmet use the same logo as the new ones do.

The new roster should be out this week...

Then we will see if they fixed any of the ratings that were screwed up.

Couple good fixes

The main thing I noticed is that Leinart is a lot better now, he has the 11th highest Medium Accuracy rating in the game now 85. But they still screwed him with the speed rating.
