Arizona Cardinals Injury Report; Boldin, Hayes Game-Day Decisions
The official injury report for the Arizona Cardinals was released on Wednesday and as expected, Anquan Boldin was the headliner. After suffering a high ankle sprain in the season finale, Boldin did everything he could to play in Sunday's victory over the Packers. Obviously he wasn't able to suit up and watched from the sidelines.
"It still doesn't feel as good as I would like it to be," Boldin said. "But there are definite improvements."
"I will push it as hard as I can and try and get the range of motion back," Boldin added. "I was a big cheerleader Sunday, hoping we'd get one more shot so I could get back out there."
Boldin did watch, as Steve Breaston shined in his place and 2nd year receiver Early Doucet also made a big contribution in the win. Since the week is short(game is Saturday), that leaves Boldin only two more days of healing before he can test the ankle. Either way, he'll likely be a game-day decision.
A surprise on the report was linebacker Gerald Hayes. Hayes was sporting a walking boot in practice after spraining his ankle as well. Losing Hayes could be costly, as he's been the Cardinals best run defender for the year. Hayes should also be a game-day decision.
Calais Campbell(thumb), Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie(knee), Bryant McFadden(chest), Will Davis(knee), and Ben Graham(groin) all appeared on the report but should be able to play on Saturday.

Strickly my opinion
But it wont hurt my feelings even a little bit if we play a banged up cardnials team with out all your starters
But i get the feeling this maybe one of those times when your coach is just not releasing the facts and going to play boldin our coach does it alot

I Have Another Question About Sean Payton
Why does he always look like he’s eating Sour Patch kids? If he ate Sweet Tarts during the game, he’d look a lot happier. He should be happy coaching Drew Brees and all that talent on the offensive side of the ball. It’s just gamesmanship I guess.

If I were a Saints fan
I’d be more concerned about playing us without Boldin. Were 7-1 now without him I believe and whenever he is out Breaston has a huge game. I think Boldin hasn’t been the same since having his face broken (and understandably so). It’ll be a shootout either way though cause along with Breaston, Doucet has seemed to have turned the corner over these past couple games so hopefully he can keep it rolling.

If I were a saints fan
I’d be concerned that Boldin usually has a monster game after he sits one out with an injury.

I couldn't disagree more...
Listen, I understand the 7-1 record without Q. But you can’t tell me that you wouldn’t want him on the field as a Cards fan. What he brings to the table is unmatched. I’m actually scared that the 7-1 record may cause the Cards to let Q go next year. That (along with a possible Warner retirement) would be devastating to what we have built here.
I do think we need to worry more about the health (and ability) of the defense. But given the choice, I’ll take Q on the field 100 % of the time.

the word is "strictly"
But the NFL has an injury report for a reason. You have to be upfront about your IR although some teams do hide as much as they can. But the fact is. Q didnt play last week and it was a game time decision. That remains the same this week. There is no attempt to “not release facts”…

Makes sense now.
B Mc is on the injury report with chest issues. Makes total sense now since he is playing with no heart.
Life's too short. Be a fan. Orlando Magic, Arizona Cardinals,Tampa Bay Rays and of course "the U"! What a winning combo.

Although the NFL would never publicly admit it....
the injury report exists primarily to assist Vegas in determining betting lines. The only thing a team is compelled to be totally truthful about by the NFL is player participation in practice… “full”, “limited”, or “did not practice”. Participation in practice is reported to the NFL daily prior to the injury reports release and that information is made public.
When the official injury report is released, if a team lists a player as “out”, they can’t play. When it is obvious a key player (QB, star running back, etc.) will be unable to play, that will impact the betting line. If a player is listed as “probable”, you can pretty much be certain they will play. If a player is listed as “questionable”, they may or may not play. The team can make a decision to either play them or not play them up to and during the game. Many times, a “questionable” classification for a player is absolutedly true and accurate. But often, it is a judgement call to determine the sometimes vague difference between “probable” or “questionable”. In either case, coaches use this to their advantage when they can. This isn’t to say they are lying or cheating, it’s just part of the gamesmanship. Perfect example: all week, Marion Barber has been thought to be questionable for the game against the Vikings (although the injury report hadn’t yet been released). But Wade Phillips said as recently as yesterday, “I hope he can play, but I’m not sure. I’m sure he will play if he can”. Since Phillip’s statement is about as clear as mud, it forces Minnesota to game plan for both possibilities. Similarly, Demarcus Ware was listed as questionable for the Cowboys game against the Saints last month. Not only did he play, he had the single biggest impact of any Cowboy player in their win, including Romo.
As someone previously pointed out, I’ve heard that for whatever reasons, the Cardinals actually have as good or better w/l record when Boldin doesn’t play. As a result, his participation or absense in this weeks game probably doesn’t have much, if any, impact on the betting line. But I would imagine it does have some influence on how the Saints prepare for the game.
Another example of the NFL’s “arrangement” with the betting industry – At the end of the season, teams with nothing to play for are not compelled by the NFL to publicly announce they will be resting players in an upcoming game, but they typically let that fact be known well before kickoff as it does have a significant impact on the betting line.

I wish Quan would play.
So that The Cards could make another Superbowl run. The lead-up to this game reminds me of last year’s divisional round were the Cards flew to Carolina and won convincingly however they were big underdogs. The comparison could be made this year too…they are heading east, going to play an NFC south team on the road and are getting hot at just the right time riding a wave of momentum. However the defense MUST step up tomorrow just like they did at Carolina and steal one on the road.
