Analysis

Saints

QB

Cardinals_05_medium Warner's a great postseason quarterback, while Brees excels at everything else Saints_medium

RB

Cardinals_05_medium Saints are banged up, Cardinals rushing game looked flawless last week

WR

Cardinals_05_medium Both teams have very good WRs, with Boldin out, it's an even match up Saints_medium

TE

Shockey has looked good in NO, he alone has edge over Cards TEs Saints_medium

OL

This is a very good unit, although the Cards O line is not far behind Saints_medium

DL

Cardinals_05_medium Cardinals D was the only bright spot last week, should harass Brees

LB

Vilma man's a very good group of linebackers;Cards age at LB has hurt them Saints_medium

CB

No argument here, Saints CBs are very good. Other then DRC, Cards DBs looked bad last week Saints_medium

S

Cardinals_05_medium Two pro bowl, 1st team all pro safeties means an even match up Saints_medium

ST

Cardinals_05_medium Cardinals one of the best ST units in all of the league, looked good last week too

COACH

Cardinals_05_medium The Whiz has the Cardinals in the 2nd round 2 years in a row, Peyton makes it because he was the coach of the year IMO Saints_medium

EDGE

 7-8
A lot of even match ups here but the 13-3 Saints obviously hold the edge. Let's go for the upset Cardinals!!

Cardinals came so close last February. Should have won the game, IMO. Maybe this year.

Another Broncos Fan Named Brad

although in semantics, I’m Bradford not Bradley, says good luck to the Cards as well. I will be fair and go to Canal Street Chronicles, wishing De Los Santos De Nueva Orleans good luck as well, but I think I’ll be here throughout the game.

If the Cardinals can

score first on a long opening drive (if they win the toss), that will definitely take some energy out of the Saints and the stadium, but better yet if they can stop them on the Saints opening drive and score right after, that will put them in an even better spot.

Calais is doubtful?!

say whaaaaaaaat?!? I’m not sure that’s correct =P

I checked out what urban said, and he only shows Boldin and Hayes as doubtful.

I think Calais would be probable.

Yeah just saw that

I did this late as hell last night so I was seeing questionable as doubtful.

Boldin is inactive for today BTW.

What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.

i think people are unfair to rackers for last week

i agree that it was a terrible time to miss that kick but he was rushed. kicking a ball 30 yards requires a kicker to go through his ritual and form. rushing a kick is much worse than rushing a play or a throw. and also, he is injured.

kurt wouldn’t come back. but he signed a 2 year contract for a reason: he wants to play for two more years. if he wanted just one more year, he would have signed a one year deal. i think he’ll be back next year and we’ll see him in at least one more playoff game

They tried to get us to go offsides by lining up to go for it. We didn’t jump offsides so it was a delay of game. If we accepted the penalty, then it would have given them more room on the punt and a less likely touchback. It ended up working for them because they downed it on the 11 or whatever.

the mcfadden signing is looking pretty bad right now, but shit happens. whiz is also the guy who drafted a pro-bowl cornerback after this team failed miserably to do so with 1st round picks all decade and had the balls to start kurt warner over matt leinart (people don’t remember this, but he got KILLED two summers ago for doing this)

abdullah

obviously, you don’t follow the Cards like crazy, because against Green Bay, he was out there (and I will certainly admit I had to look him up then).

I want PERFECTION. Not a good try. If I was payed millions, I woulod expect I had to deliver PERFECTION and if I didn’t I would expect the flak .

It's just one year for our team.

But your idiocy is perptual. Come to think of it, your advice about ‘living with it’ must come from experience.

Well, I thought that if the Cards lost, I'd have little to route for in the playoffs.

After that cheap shot on Warner, I am now a Saints hater and I wish them the worst of luck here on out. That’s right!…..I’m pouting and I want childish revenge on them, especially the lowlife that hit Warner.

Did you actually watch it?

It wasn’t a cheap shot.

by Red Reign on Jan 16, 2010 5:33 PM MST up reply actions

It was perfectly legal

But that doesn’t mean that the Saints player wasn’t looking to hurt Warner. I believe the guy was trying to lay the wood on him and make him pay. Not cheap but was deliberate in my opinion.

Kinda the point of football, ain't it?

by Red Reign on Jan 16, 2010 5:38 PM MST up reply actions

Yeah. I'm not arguing.

‘Cheap’ is in the eye of the beholder. I define the word “cheap” — in this context — as I would the word “unfair”. Nothing unfair about the play but others may define the word “cheap” as they would the word “unecessary”. If that’s the case, they may have a point. then again, as you wrote, this is kind of the point of football.

by LowcountryJoe on Jan 16, 2010 5:53 PM MST up reply actions

It was unnecessary to nail a defenseless qb him like that.

by Red Reign on Jan 16, 2010 5:40 PM MST reply actions

let's talk next year ..

Who has to go
1. McFadden
2. Rackers
3. Urban
4. Billy Davis

And if it’s Whiz’s last contract year, just tell him, win or good-bye.
Whiz seems a genius if his game plan works, but he can’t adjust, come on guys, name a friggin game where the calling adjusted in the middle. Bet you can’t. Rebuild now, before we slide back into mediocrity.

Do not fall into the ‘oh, they are our Cards and look how well they did’ trap. They are paid to WIN, not do well. Cards fans need to get into Zero tolerance. I don’t get paid millions, but I am also not expected to make stupid mistakes and if I did, there would be consequences.

I’m a big time fan now. I will ALWAYS be for the Cards, but individuals ?? what did you do for me today ?? I don’t care what you did yesterday, what did you do today ?? an dif it didn’t contribute to CARDINALS success, then you are deadwood, no matter who you are.

by scsa69 on Jan 16, 2010 5:41 PM MST reply actions

You are insane to get rid of Whiz

In three years he’s turned this team from a joke to a contender.

by SSreporters on Jan 16, 2010 5:49 PM MST up reply actions

Emotional much?

So Bellichek should be fired by that reasoning, along with Reid, Holmgren, Cowher, so on and so forth. Dont make such a claim as that. Now Urban shouldn’t have been on the field. I concur with that, while McFadden isn’t bad, he isn’t a playmaker. He is a good run defender and a good tackler. Rackers seemed off and I don’t think he was on, it seemed like his leg is still bothering him. Um, a first season Defensive Co Ordinator and he should be let go? C’mon it is a new system, I say give him another year or two. Though I am curious to see if Whiz brings in an actual offensive guy…

by Sir Whirly on Jan 16, 2010 5:51 PM MST up reply actions

you keep talking about getting rid of whiz if he doesn't win

but he’s won. he won ten games this year. the team has improved every year since he’s came here and could have won today if we weren’t so injured. if you’re holding out for “perfection” as you call it, stop watching sports

by najmsh on Jan 16, 2010 5:52 PM MST up reply actions

sports and perfection

the Olympics are for heart warming good tries

if you are being paid millions, it’s be perfect or good-bye, as it should be,
if you write a computer program that just happens to screw up some business because of
some slight ‘lapse’, you are not getting a slap on the back and a ‘good try’ man, from anybody.

why should someone being paid millions of dollars be held to a lesser standard ??

I am not anti-CARDS, I love them, I just grew up. If the the Owners, Coaches or players can’t do it, it’s on them, no matter what they did last week, that’s what ‘professional’ means in professional sports.

you want to give people a pass, watch the Olympics, where, supposedly, it’s just for the love of the game. In pro-sports (and someday, you to will evolve) it’s about winning, EVERY time.

by scsa69 on Jan 16, 2010 5:57 PM MST up reply actions

believe me, i'm all for winning, and if people don't perform, i think they should be fired

what i’m saying is that whiz has produced results. he has won in this league and we’d be crazy to let him go. end. of. story.

by najmsh on Jan 16, 2010 6:00 PM MST up reply actions

Once again,

Since, by your logic, Bellicheat and Patriots lost in the first round, he should be fired because of this.

Nothing was more satisfying today than watching the girls in red get beat up like a bunch of bitches. Kurt Warner getting his bones smashed shook like a baby rattle was like music to my eyes. That’s what you get for talking shit after Packer loss chumps. So, in conclusion – The reason the Cardinals will NEVER win a Super Bowl is because you / they don’t deserve it. Go Pack ! ! a Cards fan can take some solice in knowing that it was the best team in the conference/league that handed the Cards their playoff loss.
