Hurting?
Guys, I know I don't post that much on here, but the veterans around know me as a lurker supreme. Guys, I know we're hurt tonight, I know a superior team got the better of us tonight...and I'll accept I drank my troubles away. (Blame my Irish nationality, blame my new Pharmacy timetable this Monday morning, blame my nerves about tonight's game). But for at least a moment, can we focus on the positive? Can we focus on the two teams of players (Cards 08 & 09) who finally made the mainstream media at least acknowledge this football organisation? I for one am SO proud of these group of guys. These players finally made us not ashamed to be Cardinals fans, at last we could claim our fandom as more than a perverse desire to back the losing part of a pathetically incompetent organisation. This summer, drastic changes will affect the product that the Arizona Cardinals place on the field in '10. To be honest, I'll accept whatever happens. Even if the worst came to worst, I'd still love the whatever team took any field under the Cardinals' name. I'll follow my team whatever happens. I know tonight hurts, but tonight was part of a commitment that we all undertook when we became Cardinal fans. Lets suck this pain up and get on with the process. One day we'll all may get rewarded with a Super Bowl win, but to be honest I hope its about more than that with you guys. I for one know I'll go to my grave with a Cardinal on my chest, no matter how they do in the future.
Go Cards

After a brief memorial service and mourning period
we shall move beyond the ’09 season and our dashed hopes at a super bowl run. Until then drink on brother.

Well said IC. Agree. Grab another beer. I know I will.
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.
Revenge of the Birds
Im not hurting im excited that we can say we are back to back nfc west champs
Im excited that i was able to watch 3 stars in the making Doucet, Wells, DR.C. Im excited that i was able to see a sho in canadate for the hall of fame in warner. Im excited that we have had the plesure of seeing greatness in Fitz Boldin Breaston. For theese reasons i cant wait for the next season and for those players most likely not going to be with us next year have a blessed life and remmber that u might take the money from aanother team but is it worth being on a losing team.
The Devil Birds just got cha
Cheers, IC
’10 should be interesting to say the least with roster turnover and an uncapped season. As long as the FO continues to make sound decisions in drafting/paying players and Whisenhunt is in place to coach the team, the future still remains as bright as the past two (three?) seasons were. I too look forward to another division championship (though next year will be a big challenge) and opportunities to drive to the Super Bowl.
Don't waste time or Time will waste you.
haha
I stand by every word. Cant help but worry about next season. This defence needs a lot of help and if kurt retires, the offence will be a shadow of its former self.

True the defense needs help
But I’m not ready to board the Doomsday Train to Gloomsville on this offense if Kurt chooses to hang ‘em up. The receiving core is a position of surplus quality and the running game will only get better. The OL is avove average; adequate at worst. No, the team’s offense will be okay even if Kurt retires. It may [qualifier word] actually get better in his absence — it will become more of a balanced attack. It just needs an avaerage QB that can execute and avoid throwing picks.

Hey wake up
Look my Saints came out and won, now we have to win one more to get to the Superbowl, a milestone the Cards have achieved.
For as long as I have been a Saints fan I have also be a Cardinals fan, why because I always liked the underdogs and I remember when it was a big deal to win against the Cardinals/Saints, when it meant the Saints/Cardinals would go 3-11
So don’t feel so hurt, remember when your team was in the Superbowl
Well said IC
I am just thrilled that we are in a position to be hurt after a playoff game. This position seemed unattainable 3 years ago.
Took me
A few days to recover from the loss and the alcohol induced coma.
But, I am feeling better. Only to know worry about the off season. I think there is a lot to worry about.
But in Whiz I trust.
Here’s to never going to a bar AND watching the Cards play again!
They are who we thought they were!

In seasons past, I would have took this one worse
The Monday night bears fiasco…that put me in a funk for several days. The OT loss to SF in ‘07 and the 3 blowout losses toward the end of last season left me fealing sour for a while. Hell, even this year’s MNF loss to the 9ers left me more depressed than the Saints game for some reason…
Not sure exactly what it was, but even as the Saints were running away with it in the 3rd quater, I had already come to terms that they deserved it as the better team. Immediately after the loss I felt proud of the 2010 season as a whole and the remarkable turnaround over the last 3 years as an organization.
And besides…It is just a game.

+1 Million Dollars. I mean 1 Billion Dollars.
I fealt the exact same way for some reason.
Life's too short. Be a fan. Orlando Magic, Arizona Cardinals,Tampa Bay Rays and of course "the U"! What a winning combo.
+1

Revenge of the Birds
+1,000,000 I just told myself "Hey, they had our number today."
But I also said, we had a hell of a ride this year. ‘09 was great, as others have said we’re putting on more Pro-Bowlers and developing Hall of Fame candidates. These three seasons have shown the world the Cardinals have changed and are contenders on any stage.
I completely agree with you AJ, the games you listed left me in more of a funk than the Saints game. I was more worried about KW being okay than the end of our playoff run this year.
Also, I just loved that the Cards put to bed all of the “curses” that have been labeled against teams that have done well or had star athletes. To me it just proves that “we are who we thought we were.” C’mon that’s funny.

respect
Our team never gets respect. At the beginging of the season no one picked the Cards to do anything. Everyone stated that the Super Bowl losers never make it to the post season. They were proven wrong. They won their division again, made it to the playoffs and made it to the second round of the playoffs. I am proud of what was accomplished this season, maybe someday the rest of the country will realize that the Cardinals have become an elite team…………….. Good Job Cards

Great
outlook. The last 3 seasons have had more positives than the previous 15 had negatives…almost… Honestly tho, here’s to not having to answer (as many) questions about ‘why are you a Cardinals fan’. No one ever understood those answers anyway. It’s nice to see some success for the birds and I see no reason that it shouldn’t continue…
