Draft

Do we draft a receiver? while it is very likely that Boldin, Morey and Urban may not be back. Should we try and get another one before heading into the season.

My vote is to bring in a Sundevil!

Chris Mcgaha in the fourth round?

Arizona Sports (minus) UofA wildcats = Love!

I saw him play

In high school.
My question, why would we want to use a draft pick on a position we have depth in? Almost like drafting another RB…

They are who we thought they were!

Popular opinion on the board seems to be that we like our practice squad guys

Onrea Jones and Ed Gant have both been around a while and have looked pretty good in preseasons past. I don’t think the Cards should spend a draft choice on a WR, but I do think they should (and will) bring in a few UDFA’s to compete for the 4th & 5th positions (assuming both Boldin and Urban are gone). In this scenario, Breaston will be starting full-time, and we will want to have someone else returning punts. Either way let’s face it, Breaston’s production here hasn’t been extraordinary as of late so even if he doesn’t get the #2 job for whatever reason, it’s still a good chance to bring in someone who can take over the job and learn the WR position gradually.

I don’t expect Morey’s position to be filled by another WR, btw. We’ve been carrying 6 receivers for a while now, and I think the excess hurt other positions last year — FB, especially.

Great point.

I say our next gunner will either be a speedy DB. And you’re right, we did lose a FB while keeping Morey. If Kurt retires and we are forced to be more balanced, I can see us keeping two FBs next season.
As far as Boobs returning punts, why can’t LSH do it?

Life's too short. Be a fan. Orlando Magic, Arizona Cardinals,Tampa Bay Rays and of course "the U"! What a winning combo.

Hmm

I’m not sure if he can or not! Remember how Lance Long looked doing it last off-season — if it’s something he’s not familiar with (I have no idea, personally) it’s probably not a good idea… But we’ll probably find out soon.

I know they played Ed Gant at gunner in the preseason, which has a lot to do with why I think he has a chance this year… but it’s far from a sure thing. A new DB would make more sense, and I think we’re all hoping for one or two of those :)
