Antrel Rolle Named To First Pro Bowl
Arizona Cardinals' starting free safety Antrel Rolle, has been named to the NFL Pro Bowl next week. The move was made after starting safety Darren Sharper, was forced to pull out with his obvious attendance in the following week's Super Bowl match up with the Indianapolis Colts.
The trip to Miami will be Rolle's first career Pro Bowl appearance and it certainly proves that the former first round pick has come a long way since struggling with his original position at cornerback.
Rolle was the fifth Cardinal selected to the Pro Bowl, but will only be the second player in attendence after Larry Fitzgerald, Adrian Wilson, and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie all pulled out with different reasons. The only other Cardinal to attend with be defensive tackle Darnell Dockett.
Antrel ended 2009 with 71 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 4 interceptions. Congratulations to Antrel Rolle who will be representing the Arizona Cardinals next week and makes watching the game a little bit more worth while.
Drew Brees will obviously not play, and if Brett Favre doesn't attend either, we may see Kurt Warner Pro Bowl bound as well. Tony Romo was added to the pro bowl in place of Favre. Looks like we won't see Warner again this year after all.

I wonder how backing in is treated under the bonus provisions of a contract?
Not just in Rolle case, but in several other cases as well. Obviously Brees and Manning aren’t going. In thier career stats will they be considered pro-bowlers for this year? I would assume so, but the guys that actually play also have to be pro-bowlers, rgith? If you had a position where 5 or 6 guys were either in the SB or claimed injuries not to go could you have 6 pro-bowlers from the AFC or NFC at one position?

yea they're all considered Pro Bowlers
That’s why it’s such a watered down system and moving it in front of the SB will only make it even more watered down. I’m sure the players love the new system considering there might be 200 pro bowlers every year now.
Be careful....to a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

God my typing and spelling suck
I have become dependent on the auto spell/grammar checking features of almost all new programs. My fingers now wander all over the keyboard nearly randomly.

We are going to be hearing a lot of Michael Vick trade rumors this off season. Unfortunately we are going to be mentioned in a lot of them.

Considering how many Quarterbacks are dropping out...
Maybe Rolle could replace one of them?
Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan.
I can't stand band-wagoner fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad.

Tony Romo was chosen to replace Brett Favre.
I doubt Warner would have played if he had been chosen for Favre’s spot but I was still holding out hope that he would be given the spot.
