I figure, someone was going to post it sooner or later, so I may as well be the one to start it up, right?
Kent Somers doesn't think it's going to happen, and I find myself agreeing with him. I think he will cost too much money. There is some merit to the discussion, however.
We've tried to plug more athletes into that 4th OLB spot than any other position I can remember recently, and with absolutely zero success. Alex Hall appears to have settled into it for the time being, but outside of Porter, Haggans, and Davis, I can't really see Hall locking it down, especially considering I don't believe he's even been active for a game yet.
As for Lights Out himself, he was amazing his first couple years in the league. Then, he got busted for 'roids. He was still a beast that year (for the time he wasn't suspended) but has done nothing lately that hasn't included the verbs "tweak," "pull," "strain," or "tear." Is 26 too early to decide he won't be able to bounce back from injury? His problem this year is not considered serious, and the Chargers are supposed to release him entirely once he heals up, so he can sign anywhere, leading to the poll.
