10-24-10: Arizona Cardinals Bird Droppings

GLENDALE AZ - OCTOBER 10: Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald #11 of the Arizona Cardinals runs with the football after a reception against the New Orleans Saints during the NFL game at the University of Phoenix Stadium on October 10 2010 in Glendale Arizona. Gameday. Hopefully the Cards get a win, and the rest of the NFC West loses this week.

Also, U of A was the only other Arizona team to win last night, the Devils lost and so did the Coyotes.

KTAR.com - Seahawks rookie CB Thurmond about to get big test
Walter Thurmond is about to get quite the indoctrination to starting in the NFL: Larry Fitzgerald. Perhaps not surprising considering Thurmond's confident nature, the rookie is looking forward to it.

Lofa Tatupu almost sounds sympathetic. The Pro Bowl linebacker understands the difficult task Arizona quarterback Max Hall has Sunday when he tries to communicate with teammates at Qwest Field.

Cardinals report (10.22): Hall, passing game will play big role vs. Seahawks
The Cardinals have struggled in almost every statistical category this year, but one area in which they might find success against Seattle is the passing game. The Seahawks’ pass defense currently ranks 30th in the NFL, allowing over 290 yards per game.

Cardinals-Seahawks preview: All that matters is first place
Sometimes the storyline is simple. That’s the case with Cardinals’ game Sunday at Seattle.

No Hayes, Schofield this week
The Cardinals did not activate linebackers Gerald Hayes or O’Brien Schofield this week — the deadline to bring them off the physically-unable-to-perform list and the reserve/non-football injury list, respectively, was 1 p.m. Saturday — so neither will be playing Sunday in Seattle. It’s really no surprise. Schofield in particular wasn’t ready. Hayes certainly hasn’t had much practice time, not with back problems/surgery that had kept him off the practice field since before the playoff game in New Orleans in January. Waiting an extra week isn’t a surprise.

Seahawks' Mike Williams getting noticed because "I was so bad" | ProFootballTalk.com
Seahawks receiver Mike Williams is getting a lot of credit this week after his 10-catch, 123-yard performance in a win over the Bears. But Williams, whom the Lions selected with the 10th pick in the 2005 draft, says the real reason he's getting so much credit is that everyone had written him off as a draft bust years ago.

I'll be honest.

As a Seahawks fan, I’m worried that the Cardinals will be able to run successfully in this game. Brandon Mebane, who I think is unquestionably the best player in our front 7, is going to miss the game again. He missed it last week too, but the Bears abandoned the run very quickly even though it initially looked promising, because Mike Martz hates running.

Should have drafted Sanchez.

Hm, true

I’d say Whiz isn’t the type of guy who would miss weaknesses of opponents. But then again, there’s no news whether our injured players (Dockett and Breaston) will play, and even if they do it will probably be limited. I guess we’ll have to see.

?

What obvious typo? You had me nervous about Dockett. I didn’t correlate any relation between Doucet and Dockett if that’s what you’re getting after.

Crap

Just heard that Breaston is out…

Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan [I have always lived in Arizona, dad is from Chicago].

I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team(s), throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.

Kinda crazy.

The general consensus all week has been that Breaston had the better chance of playing between him and Doucet, yet game day arrives and Doucet is the active one.

Also, apparently Roberts is going to be the starter opposite Fitz, with Williams inactive as well..

I heard that Hall was looking very good the past two weeks.

Playing against a weak pass defense may be just what he needs.
