It Pains Me to Say It but This Is Whiz's FAULT

First and foremost, let me start by saying that no one banged the "In Whiz We Trust" drum harder than me the past couple of years and for good reason. You don't look a gift horse in the mouth and after all, he has been the leader of this team during the three most successful years since I've been alive. We tasted back to back division titles, playoff success and that one glorious sixty minute game in February of 2009, but Whiz forgot to do one important thing during the past three seasons: plan for the future once the grey bearded savior known as Kurt Warner left town.

We all assumed that Matt L was 'that guy' but clearly Whiz had other plans. Assuming Whiz had some kind of plan the past couple of seasons though, you've got to wonder why he didn't try to develop a capable quarterback for the future. You've got to wonder why Whiz saw his stable of QB's (aging KW, supposedly young and promising Leinart and the career third string backup BSP) and yet did nothing to address the unfortunate situation of Warner not taking snaps from under center. You've got to wonder why after three years of watching Matt Leinart every single day during practice, he waited until it was too damn late to equip this team with a capable QB. He didn't try to draft and develop one. He didn't try to sign a veteran who had a track record of success.

No, instead he pinned this franchise's hopes on a young QB he had no faith in, a QB who's had one good season in his entire career and two completely unproven rookies. Now where are we? Lost somewhere between trying to hang onto the success we've enjoyed the past couple of seasons and the reality that we're at the beginning of a whole new search for that elusive "QB of the future."

Now the only question that remains, is Whiz the right man to lead us into that new era? He didn't exactly become a mentor to Big Ben in Pittsburgh and he clearly never meshed with Leinart, much less brought out the best in him. While I'm not necessarily calling for his head, I am certainly questioning his plan for this team as we enter this era......
