How long until Beanie is cut and someone like Willie Parker is brought in (sarcasm)....

Personally, I think it's a dumb move by Beanie

If you have a problem, go talk to your coach. He’s the one that can do something about it. Whining to the media never solves anything, and it just makes you look like a malcontent.

Now, I do agree with his point. No way a healthy Beanie Wells should only get five carries in a game, even in a blowout loss. With our quarterback troubles, Beanie should be getting 20 carries a game.

He said he is going to talk to Whiz.

Yes

But BEFORE talking to the media, and actually, don’t bring this up in the media at all. Your coach should be the FIRST person that gets talked to.

I was confused as hell about not seeing Beanie until late in the 2nd QTR too.

To put his 5 carries into perspective though, Tim had 7 and LaRod had 2. Only 14 rushes for the game, 28 pass attempts. That’s what happens when your ass is getting kicked and you’re down 3+ touchdowns. Only 42 plays sucks no matter how they are divied up.

Even when we were tied or only down 7

we still didn’t see that “Pittsburgh West” offense. Beanie and Tim have to carry this team offensively. With occasional long balls to Fitz

not arguing your point hadrarius

just saying i thought we’d see a lot more running even before going down by so much

by cardsfanforlife24 on Oct 4, 2010 8:22 PM MDT up reply actions

Oh, me too.

Like I said I was confused. I liked the first drive. I thought it was great to see Fitz getting catch after catch. I thought they would go a little heavier on the run because that’s what has been working. I thought I missed some news and Beanie was out of the game due to a setback with his knee or something.

by hadrarius on Oct 4, 2010 10:25 PM MDT up reply actions

Actually had 51 pass attempts...

Just that on 9 of them our QB ended up on his ass!

by toolman234 on Oct 4, 2010 7:47 PM MDT reply actions

They need to put the ball in Beanie's hands

that said, you don’t do this and I can’t support it. Probably a maturity thing he needs to learn….There may be more going on that we aren’t aware…

Ya this won’t help his cause…please Beanie don’t be “that guy”.

Whiz....

Seems like he’s edge and is pulling the gun on the run to early…The Howling Beantower looked great on the ground…I for the life of me cant figure out why he wants to pass so much…I’m not caling for Anderson’s head, but we all know he isnt the closest thing to money (ala Warner) when it comes to hitting the open man….Here’s to hoping we line up and pound it at the saints, because anybody knows without Warner we sure as heck arent winning a shootout

I agree with Beanie,

but really really bad timing. Talk to the coach not the media. It still doesn’t make sense to me why Timmy is starting. Someone want to help me out here?

Timmy is a better blocker.

Big whoop

we’re trying to turn into a running team anyways. Beanie gives more pop and finds holes better than timmy. I think if we run beanie more, teams will be more worried about the run, thus making the pass blocking easier on beanie IMHO

by AlaskanCard on Oct 5, 2010 12:14 PM MDT up reply actions

Hightower blocking better is great when Warner is throwing it 40 times a game.

When the idea is to pound the rock then it’s not a strong enough reason to make him the starter. Personally I don’t care who plays the first snap but keeping Beanie out for so long makes no sense. He does find better holes. He is more dynamic than Hightower. I’d really like to see the offense mix it up with all 3 backs in various personel sets and keep defenses off balance.

by hadrarius on Oct 5, 2010 6:58 PM MDT up reply actions

Agree with Beanie

I don’t blame him at all for being pissed, I was thinking the same thing. There are a bunch of things this coaching staff is doing that just puzzles the crap out of me. You are correct, Joe, about Tim being a better blocker, but man he missed one (3rd qtr I think) where Hall got sacked on a blitz.

I think we all were asking “where’s Beanie?”, “why are we blitzing, again, on 3rd down?”, “why is Adub covering Gates again?”.

I don’t think being behind as much as we were is a good excuse for not running more. By the middle of the third it was obvious where the game was going to end, so why not try to go back to our “preferred” balance and get our guys some practice time out there. Hall could have used it, as well as the rest of the offense. Not saying we should have given up, just take the pressure off the rookie and the D and go back to what Whis has been preaching to see what we could do.

We are absolutely horrible right now and there have to be some serious changes to fix what’s wrong.

That's almost exactly what I was telling my wife. I thought the Cards should come out 2nd half and play the game like it was 0-0.

Obviously take a few more shots on trick plays and the like as well as a few more deep balls to give a shot at winning.

I just hope this isn't Leinart/Anderson all over again

Whiz kept talking all offseason and into the preseason about how much Leinart had improved, but it is pretty clear there was something up behind the scenes. Not clear if it was a leadership thing or a personality clash. I am hoping that something is not going on behind the scenes that is keeping Beanie off of the field. If it is then there is some serious evaluating that needs to happen. Is it the players we pick, or the coaches not getting along with them. Either way, the buck stops with the HC. It is up to him to right the ship.
