The O-line

After four games we can all agree that our offense line has been terrible in passing situations and with little help from the D they have been passing often.

After checking out Footballoutsiders I saw that our offense line was surprisingly good at running the ball. Overall we are ranked 19th but it is a bit misleading. So far our backs have combined for 4.02 yards per carry and our power run game (runs on third and fourth down) is ranked 1st, yet we shoot our selves in the foot because our stuffed ranked (how often our backs are tackled at or behind the line of scrimmage) is 25% of the time. Basically our runs either go big (being ranked 6th in runs between 5-10 yards and first in runs over 10 yards) or get stuffed. Some more to think about, we are ranked 7th, 32nd, 21st, 7th, and 7th from the left to the right of our line. We all know that stats can be misleading but this to me really says something.

On pass protection we are ranked 31st giving up more sacks than any other team except the Bears and Philly. Our QB is sacked an average of 10.6% of the time for second worse in the league. So for every 10 drop backs we can expect at least 1 sack. The NFL average is 6%.

Right now I think I might add Grimm to the hot seat along with Bill Davis.
