Well, if any of you have noticed, I've been MIA the last couple of days. My apologies, but my situation right now makes it a little difficult to post regularly like I'd love to do. You may have also seen boogatt66's post on Thursday night regarding my "sensoring" of one of his stories. I'd like to address this in my own post -- obviously. I tend to ignore someone criticising my writing because when you put it out on the internet, it's going to happen. That's just part of writing and something I'm well aware of. With that being said, I'll address a few topics:
The phantom deletion - Boog, if your post was deleted, I apologize. I didn't delete it, and wasn't ever aware it was posted in the first place. As I just stated, I haven't been on ROTB since Wednesday. In fact, I've never deleted or banned anyone from this site. The only members that have been banned are the spammers. There are others on this site that have privileges to delete posts or ban members. I can't tell you for sure who it was. I don't want cussing on the site, just because we all know which direction the site would go if it happened on a regular basis. If you or others slip up, it's not a big deal to me. I only care if it happens on a lot. So on behalf of ROTB, I apologize that your story was erased without my knowledge.
The Midseason Awards - I understand that giving out awards to a team severely struggling doesn't make much sense. I do, really. That's part of the reason I only post a Cardinal of the Week story after a victory. Unfortunately, I feel like midseason awards are still necessary to reflect on the performances of specific players. For instance, I truly didn't realize how good Paris Lenon had been until some members requested for him to be added to a poll. If a post upsets you, all I can do is tell you to skip over it. What you don't like doesn't necessarily mean others won't either.
Myself - As for my "5th grade" writing, I apologize again if something didn't satisfy you. As I posted months ago, my situation has changed and it has made it difficult. Since I was put on the spot, I will let everyone know that I lost my job back in August and couldn't afford to keep my internet connection on. I needed to provide for my family and had to made a sacrifice. Since then, I've been using friends and family member's computers as often as possible to make my posts. I really didn't want to put all of my information out there, but I feel like everyone should know exactly what is going on. I actually found a job that starts next week. With that being said, I should have my connection up and running soon so I can get back to full speed. Seeing how I have to barrow a connection, I don't have a lot of time to spell check, correct some grammar, or come up with new stories like I'd prefer. I understand that is no one else'sfault, but I do apologize if it has bothered others.
If you want the old head of ROTB, I'm sure you can find him at the Steelers blog. Here's a link to his profile and profile picture. I'm sure all of us Cardinals fans will love it.
Yes, I do get paid, but it averages out to $1.60 per day. It's clearly not enough to live off of, so take it for what you will.
I'm not the best writer on SBN, but I do try my best, especially considering my current situation. And that's just it, I'm not a journalist, I'm a fan of the Cardinals that writes about them. Once things change I will make a stronger attempt to improve, but that's no guarantee. And I didn't and will continue NOT deleting people's posts because this site is for and by the fans -- just like me. If anyone has any questions or complaints, feel free to leave them in a comment below or email me at revengeofthebirds@gmail.com. And to the other members of the site that have been around for a while or are new, thanks for supporting me. I love my fellow Cardinals fans that make this the place to go to, to discuss our favorite team.
