Cardinals going for Marc Bulger in the offseason?
Thats what Mike Jurecki thinks. Do you want to see Bulger in Cardinal Red next season?
I would like it, but I still think they need to get one of the big name QBs from the Draft.

Agreed with you Joe
Sign Bulger and bring in a rookie. Clear out the dead weight (DA/Hall)

They need to draft one of the big name QB's
Like Andrew Luck or Jake Locker in the 1st Round, and get a veteran. But if I’m not mistaken, aren’t there a lot of new QB’s on the FA Market after this season?
Young? really?
Would anyone really want Young after all the drama around him? Why not get TO as well? (sarcasm).
Damn but they need somebody.
I don’t see what’s so special about Bulger but he can’t be worse than what we’ve had this season. If they don’t draft a QB in the first round I’ll be shocked.
While Bulger would be an upgrade
I think he would be another stopgap solution at best. We need to get a QB for the future, so we might as well move up in the draft or tank to get Luck or some other QB. Of course we threw out our last “QB of the future” so I hope we can learn from our mistakes the next time around.
by YoungCardsFanatic on Nov 21, 2010 6:42 PM MST reply actions
I was going to say "what do you mean tank, as if we hadn't already"...
but when I checked I realized that there are actually 8 teams worse than the Cardinals right now. Hard to believe that with a 3-7 record we are still in the top 3/4 of the league.
lol why are you guys forgetting about skelton?
get Bulger here! and continue to develop Skelton!
Going for Bulger is like not trying at all really, but cutting DA for Bulger would be almost the same, what the coaches want is a veteran presence, and with the roster filled with rookies the next season is going to be another one in development.
I say, that if we don´t get any high draft picks or any pick on QB at all (which im more certain of) or we dont get Mcnabb :( (if released by Redskins), we should stick with the 3 QBs on the roster but play Skelton and Hall alot more than Anderson because if the next season is going to be like this one (full of experiments) we should at least get these guy some confidence and playing time.
Marc Bulger is a career 62 percent passer
DA’s 53%. It’s not almost the same. It’s not almost the same at all.

I get it
And i didnt know about that stat, but if you have two QBs that need to play, would you go after another one who was already cut only to be signed as the #2? Or would you play your rookies? To me including him into the roster is solving the problem at a short term.
I ditch DA/Hall and sign Bulger / draft a kid
I want both. Put a short and long-term option on the roster. And when I say “long term option” I don’t mean Skelton because he’s a project. He can stay as #3.

The thing is
Next season shouldn’t be a rebuilding year, and it’s not going to be a rebuilding year. This team has the talent to go far in the Playoffs. We’re just not playing up to all the hype.
Why would we stick with the same QB’s we have right now? That would be the dumbest move in the history of the NFL. They’re one of the biggest reasons we have a losing record right now. Let’s clean out the depth chart, draft a big-name, Andrew Luck kind of QB, pick up a talented veteran, and John Skelton would be fine to keep as a #3. As much as you like John Skelton, to me, he seems like a good career backup.
John Skelton
I’m pretty sure it was him. I think they have a system with signing rookies, where 1st Round picks get 4 year contracts or something, and as the rounds go up, the rookies get smaller contracts.
That sounds
like a rebuilding year to me.
Do keep in mind that we have shit offensive line, and at the pass rushing positions, as well.
There is no tackle worth taking, though.
There. Argument debunked.
We also could use a new LG, C and possibly even an RT.
Is there an interior lineman worth taking over a QB?
Doubt it. QB trumps all, unless they score one before the draft. I’ve never been a Sendlein fan but I don’t see them replacing him. The guy is an offensive captain even. Rex Hadnot should be able to step in following the departure of Faneca. I wouldn’t be averse to picking up someone like Pouncey though. They’re likely to stick with Keith at RT. You’re right about needing a pass rusher. Even if Schofield pans out they still need to upgrade with some young talent. Levi Brown has stunk it up and unlike Keith has no further “potential for development”.
Bulgers Accurate
So id take him. Anyone watching the Eagle Giant game? Vicks tearin it up lately but look at how much time he has back there. Philly got a good O Line

QB
why why why would we go after a backup!!!!! our problems are this…. if we dont sign an elite caliber QB we will lose fitz there is not enough money to keep him let alone not enough wewould spend anyways….. the bottom line is we need a top 5 QB to win to keep fitz to not have another 4-12 season like we have this year. hurts to say but if we keep bill davis dont hire a off cord and at least get a top 10 draft QB then whiz tenure and the rest of the whats left of the fair weather cards fan are gone!! caput
Where do you think they are going to get a top 5 QB from?
It’s not going to happen unless they draft him.
Bulger would be a good pick up
But I agree with the idea of toughing it out with a rookie.
The more I watch DA the more I realize that he is a one trick pony.
We need a guy who is smart and can read defenses, not the typical big armed guys Whiz likes. Warner was accurate and smart and look what he did with his receivers. Dumb Ass is stupid and inaccurate and look what he has done.
Anderson blamed his "inaccurate" passes on "the swirling winds" at Arrowhead
by Redbird Nation #1 on Nov 21, 2010 8:49 PM MST reply actions
Anderson has a much stronger arm than Cassel
Yet Cassel’s passes were coming out fine. DA is probably used to strong winds from Cleveland too.

Warner said Bulger would come in and pick up right where he left off...

Like Bulger
I didn’t want him in the off-season because I thought he was a step down from Warner AND was injury -prone. Wow, I didn’t know what “step-down” meant! I had hoped DA would be serviceable with some bright spots. Not. Crapyy with some serviceable spots is more like it. Bulger and a high-end pick would be the best option to me. Damn, this season is getting old, and I’m not even able to watch most of the games (thankfully, I guess)

Bulger
is smart, accurate, and a good teammate…. sign him, draft a qb in rd 1 (either mallet or locker, not newton) and wait till he gets injured so you can let the rookie play….
or……. throw the kitchen sink into getting vick…… 1st and 3rd.. use the 2nd to get either help for the secondary or a pass rusher…. our 2nd round pick is high enough and the draft is deep at both positions, that we would get quality….
new defensive coordinator, new offensive coordinator… we have a ton of talent on both sides of the ball…. so its gottta be coaching staff… that and awful qb play…
also, it is good to hear noone bringing up vicks past… he has paid his due, and has put to rest, any questions of maturity and on field play….
+1
Though I doubt the Eagles are going to let Vick go. Kolb is more likely to be available

Kolb is who I hope they go after
He’s young enough to be both the starter now and for a lot of years to come. I think he’s worth spending some draft picks to get as opposed to another untested rookie that we hope will save this team!

Anything but Jake Locker.
If he’s the pick we might as well just pass on the selection and save ourselves several years of heartbreak

The dumb asses in the front office (that's you too Whiz) need to wake up!!!
They tried to do it the ‘cheap’ way this year….I get the FA options were limited, and how things went following Warner’s retirement with the sequence. I’ll say it again. If you didn’t like Leinart, then a move should’ve been made day 1 after Kurt retired. Cutting Leinart right before the season was a huge error, in my opinion (not saying things would’ve been different(I think they could’ve had 2 more wins potentially), but by cutting him, they ignored what everyone else was saying – you don’t have two rooks as back-ups). Leinart would’ve at least given them a viable back-up option to look at (he would’ve been able to hit the short passes, that’s for sure).
At any rate, they need to swallow their pride and fix this thing. When the season is over, they should trade a pick and (if necessary) a player to get a quality QB in here (we’ve all talked about different options). I’m fine if they go after Luck also. They invested in all the other positions by re-doing salaries, etc. I’m fine with that, but they went cheap on the QB position and that was a TOTAL MISCALCULATION on their part. Now, they need to dig into their pockets, and fix it. Oh, and cut anderson too.
The thing is this – The QB position is the MOST IMPORTANT position on the team!!! Whiz and the FO thought they could ‘play and manage’ this. WRONG!!!!
WHIZ – you F’d this up big time…..Not calling for your job, but the arrogance, pride, and stubbornness is wearing thin….Graves – I don’t know what you’re doing, but you’re to blame as this falls on you….Michael – stop driving around on your little cart on Sunday and start holding people accountable!!!! You can start by making a public apology to the FANS who love this team and will still be there, even though you all screwed this up!!
I don’t know what the answer is and I’m not getting paid to make these decisions….YOU ARE THE ONES THAT GET PAID TO DO THIS SO FIX THIS in the off-season!!!!!!!!
I love this team and will always support it. I can’t believe they can’t compete in this worthless division!!!
I agree with everything except the two rookie backups.
Only because Green Bay did it the year Favre left. They didn’t have the best year, but they rebounded nicely. Everything else is spot on.
Life's too short. Be a fan. Orlando Magic, Arizona Cardinals,Tampa Bay Rays and of course "the U"! What a winning combo.

If you go onto the team site and watch Whiz's postgame interview he talks about all the "dropped passes"
I had to replay it to make sure I heard him right. I couldnt believe it. What game was he watching? Anderson throws high all game and Whiz blames it on dropped passes. I cant believe whats going on with this team
F Dallas
by Redbird Nation #1 on Nov 22, 2010 9:33 AM MST reply actions
I agreed with Whiz
DA obviously threw high all day (See Doucet hits for example)
But Fitz had a couple of drops (one was a low and bad throw by DA), Breaston had some drops and I forgot who had another drop (Beanie or a TE). One throw hit Fitz in the hands and he dropped it.
Regardless though, be it DA blaming the wind or Whiz blaming dropped passes it was a piss poor game by the Cards. DA can’t make the throws necessary to win. He couldn’t even hit an open screen pass… I mean wow.
Our team is losing confidence and you can see it in there play.

That "drop" by Fitz on the low pass was no drop.
He did muff a different catch but that low one was all Anderson. Anderson threw like crap all day. If Whisenhunt really believes that he’ll be changing his mind after watching tape. If not he’s totally delusional.
Now that Childress has been fired
Farve will probably be available pretty soon.
Honestly
Why would any QB, especially a veteran, want to come here just to become another tackling dummy.
Because of that guy with the dreads who wears #11

I personally don’t see any difference between Bulger and Anderson. They are both has beens if they ever were. Frankly they both suck. Play Skelton, give him some on the job training this year to see if he can be successful next year. If Skelton can play draft for other needs.
13- Warner, 23- Sandberg, 40- Tillman, 11- Walter
Skelton CAN'T play, though.
Whisenhunt has admitted as much, and the plan with him has always been as a 1-2 year developmental guy before we even think about moving him up to a back up position.

“I’ve tasted the caviar now, so eating out of the garbage is not where I want to be.’’
