Week 12 Open Thread

via spokenword.kall700sports.com

Because the Cardinals are off until Monday Night for the game against the 49ers, lets have a little gamethread to discuss the other games that will be on. On FOX, Green Bay/Atlanta and Philadelphia/Chicago will be on, both of which should be good games, and on CBS Kansas City/Seattle will be on in the afternoon. If anyone can keep an eye on Seattle, along with the St. Louis/Denver game in the afternoon try to do that since if they lose it will keep the Cardinals slim playoff hopes alive.

Although I think most of us would rather get the highest pick in the draft that we possibly can right now than go to the playoffs.

Enjoy the games.

Soooooo.....

I haven’t been on here much because I’m trying to buy a new computer. But besides that point, I wanted to know Joe or anyone who reads this. Do you want our team to continue losing and pack it in for the season or do we really want them to win? The reason I ask, is because the more we lose (or come to realize this is a transitional season) the better chances we have at drafting Luck or Mallett. I’d prefer Luck myself. What do you guys think???

Sorry folks, park's closed. Moose out front shoulda told ya.

by Ghettoboxx on Nov 28, 2010 10:06 AM MST reply actions

I always prefer winning.

Even though we can’t go anywhere this year..(we can still win the division..HAHAHA)
There’s no telling which QB would be available. It’s unlikely we would get the #1 pick and even if we did, they $$$ for the #1 pick would cripple the team for years in other areas.
I think this year with an average QB we could over .500 and running away with the division. Next year too. (although—ST.Loo will be getting better).

No more night. I have seen the light. Let it shine on bright.

Don't want to see them pack it in.

We’ve suffered through season after season of teams that give up early. If there has truly been a culture change within the team this will be the season that proves it. The 53 guys on the roster aren’t going to quit to put the team in a better draft position. If they do quit on us then we’ve got problems that can’t be fixed with the draft.

+1 very good point

about the current players not thinking about draft position.

Just win baby!

I’ve never been a fan of giving up on the season. Mathematically we aren’t eliminated from winning the NFC West. Do I think we will? No, but you have to try. The rest of this year is essentially a try-out. Can O’Brien step up with Will Davis to hold down the OLB spot when Haggans/Porter leave? Our starting QB this year is auditioning for a backup role next year. We need to see what Skelton can do, despite his inability to read defenses this early in his career. Personally, I think we’re purposely not playing Skelton so we can sneak him on to the PS next year.

If you are a true competitor, choosing to lose is not a choice at all

by cardinalbrown on Nov 28, 2010 11:11 AM MST up reply actions

Even if we don't get the #1 pick in the Draft

There’s still a ton of FA QB’s.

Why doesn’t anyone seem to like Jake Locker too much? I think he’d be great here.

by Skii on Nov 28, 2010 12:22 PM MST up reply actions

Did you see Locker play this year?

I think we can all agree Washington has sub-par talent surrounding him. What would he do for our team? I liked Locker alot last year, even had him on the same level as Bradford. But after this year I’d take Kellen Moore over Locker

Right now

I want them to try to win, but if it gets to the point where we are completely out of it. I’ll be at the point where I just want a good draft pick.

I took Cleve in my KO pool. I thought they would start McCoy.

My fantasy team is doing horrible

I’m wondering if I shouldn’t have started Eli Manning.

Also, my WR’s, who won it for me last week are doing terrible. The bright spot for me today is Adrian Peterson. Hopefully he can have a monster game.

Who knows. Maybe thing’s will pick up in the second half for my guys.

I hope to God your wrong

My other QB is Donovan McNabb. Which is a huge upgrade over the QB’s I had at the beginning of the season: Kevin Kolb and Vince Young. Kevin Kolb because he had huge expectations going in the season, and besides, no one knew about Michael Vick, and Vince Young, because I really don’t know what I was thinking.

I wish I could go back to the Draft Day. It would be so easy to make a championship team. Who in the world thought Arian Foster would turn out to become, well, Arian Foster? Or that Michael Vick would become a serious contender for the MVP award?

by Skii on Nov 28, 2010 12:38 PM MST up reply actions

Ap did leave--but he looks like he's coming back

in the meantime—Gerheart scored a TD from inside the 5 (would have been AP’s TD. (sorry)
I drafted kolb in 1 of my leagues and picked up Vick—but dropped them both. I did trade for Rogers though. (I have him in both my leagues).
1 league I’m doing great—the other I suck
