Julius Peppers
I know it is a long shot especially considering his price tag and age, but I was curious to see what people thought about him being an addition to our team. He says he wants to play OLB in a 3-4 system and we could sure use the talent. With the retirement of BB, the decline of Okafor, the uncertainty of Cody Brown and rising expectations of Davis I would really like to sign him but if we do sign him I think we defintely lose a big name on defense and have to fork up some serious dough.

I agree on both fronts!
I really believe that he is the missing piece to this emerging defense. His pass rushing skills are undeniable. Plus he has the athleticism to play the outside linebacker position that he desires to play. The problem is we have the bidwells as owners and they are way too cheap to sign this guy! If I had to choose between he and dansby, I’d take peppers because outside pass rushers are harder to find than inside linebackers. It’s gonna take at least 10.5 million to resign dansby. Maybe we could throw out there 12 million for pepper and see if he’d bite on it.

no
too expensive and has never played with his hand off of the ground.
I
would not want to gain Peppers. He is older and looking for big money. I think once he gets the money his production will decline over the next few years. The Cardinals should keep players they have and need to find some youthful players for LB they can use for the next 10 years.
Well seeing how his production has yet to decline, I wouldn't be too worried about that
He doesn’t have much experience at linebacker but he could fill the situational role that Berry and Okeafor filled, which was basically blitzing the quarterback.
I don’t know if that is what he or the Cardinals are looking for however.
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.
Revenge of the Birds
Veteran know how
I was thinking along those lines too, but it just occurred to me that A-Dub is just that. Veteran leader who does everything you ask of him.
Still though, Peppers may be aging but I think a guy like him would harass our entire conference as not one team has an experience QB. I think he would be very productive in the NFC West…
They are who we thought they were!

Couldn't agree more
Peppers would be an immediate improvement and I think would make the transition well to playing with his hand off the ground.
Section 102, Row 18
Peppers would be a great add to the D but costs too much.
I don’t see the Cardinals spending the money on him especially with the rules they must operate under being in the top 8 teams and the restrictions that places them under with FAs. If Dansby walks though there may be a chance.
Doesn't fit
Hes too old and would want too much money. Why would the Cards want someone who will most likely retire soon? In the past the Cards were the team players came to end their career ( Edge Emmit etc etc) Warner was the only true success story. Save the money and pay it to people that already deserve it on the team.

Too expensive
…not worth the cash.
Cards could address more with the money rather than on one player.

That sums it up
Has anyone bothered to look at what Peppers is angling to make? Some reports have him in Haynesworth money. He’s way too inconsistent, and it isn’t uncommon for teams to single-block him. Combine that with a position change and somebody could be getting an incredibly expensive, average OLB.
